    SPC Mississippi River

In short, this is really good stuff, guys! I cracked open a relatively new 8oz tin and was whalloped by an amazing concentrated tin note! Aroma is right between a light English and a VA-Per. Lots of sour dark fruit, grass and a wee tiny little bit of smokiness peeking out. Based on the tin...

Sutliff Crumble Kake Barrel Aged Series No.2

Sorry to hear that. One would think a nice sample would be sent so you could review. That would surely help interest move along!

    Suddenly Can Not Taste

IMHO - too much smoking and overloaded your taste buds. Have done that with too much cigar smoking. Can also happen if smoking too fast & too hot. Virginias are comparatively on the mild side, too.

    What Cigar are You Smoking?

    BlackHouse 10th Anniversary Edition

So, cut to the chase...has anyone tried this yet and is it any different from the 'regular' BH? How are the aged orientals likely to change the flavor profile? Inquiring minds want to know!

    GH Ropes

What is the difference between Brown Irish X and Happy (Brown) Bogie? I am not able to find any discernible difference between the two, or for that matter, Brown Twist Sliced (Happy Bogie Sliced). All are fairly stout, but smooth as silk and easily remain lit throughout the bowl. I usually...

    Review of the 5

Dude - if you want good Nic hit, smoke a stout cigar. Try something like an LFD Double Ligero Maduro. That will do the trick!

    Va-Pers With Red Virginias

Since there was a question as to why blenders do this...What are some exceptional Va-Pers with Red Va prominently featured (aka 'heavy handed')? Love that stuff! puffy

Why The Heavy Use of Red VA In VaPers?

Love the reds for their tangy goodness and ability to stand up to perique and other components that may be added. Red VA's seem to be a bit stronger and seem to hold up and offer more flavor - just my 2c! ?

Perfect timing on the Rouxgaroux today! Had calendar set, ready to begin the hunt within the hour and then... a two plus hour Zoom meeting on a commercial project! Oh well...there's still October!

    Beginner Perspective of Peterson's Nightcap

Nightcap is probably not a blend that newcomers to full English tobaccos would do well with. Personally, I sincerely enjoy the full, smoky experience a lot. Maybe try something from Drucquer or Rattray in the way of a Scottish blend. That, or a lighter English with less latakia.

Finally Prepared Cringle Flake The Right Way

I probably should have added that I prepared Cringle Flake the right way - for me. The first two bowls with this reportedly delish flake were miserable. I rubbed the very damp flakes out to a bit of a rough chunk, packed, toasted and tried to light up. Tried again and again, but the tobacco...

    Kramer's Father Dempsey

Surprisingly, I bought bulk. In my experience, bulk usually is not quite as nice as tins for most blends I've tried both of. I have no need to go to tins, as the bulk is spot on for me!
