    Zippo Fuel Lighter - Taste?

This one seems t one polarizing. So, if you are using a regular lighter fluid Zippo to light your pipes, do you actually find that it imparts a taste into your pipe tobacco? Not talking about the obvious smell of the fluid - I mean an actual taste in the bowl. Personally, I find that it is...

    The Tobacco Purge — Why?

@Lumbridge said it right... "As for the % off sales, it's simply to get you in the door. You see that and think "Oh cool, now I can get the C&D tins I wanted because they're 20% off. I might as well pick up some other stuff I wanted, too. I might as well grab a few more things to get that free...

Small, Medium, Large Tins Or Bulk Preference

I agree that 100g or 3.5 - 4 oz tins would be a good happy medium. More tobacco for the price and easier to store than a bunch of small tins.

Small, Medium, Large Tins Or Bulk Preference

So, which size pipe tobacco tins do you like, or do you prefer to buy & cellar bulk? Don't forget to include why for your preferences. Personally, I prefer small-medium size tins (2 - 3.5 oz) and the occasional bulk 2-4 oz. I do not care to have larger quantities jarred. What say ye all?

    Any Thoughts On C&D Redburn?

Would anyone here mind offering their opinion on this bend? I'm picking up several Burley blends, thanks to the advice given on the forum. One I'm including at is Redburn - looking to decide whether to just get a couple of trial 2oz tins or just go with an 8oz. If it's a truly tasty blend, it...

    Alternatives to GLP Odyssey

Have a look at Pirate Kake, Ten Russians and Billy Budd. Plenty of Latakia and vitamin N in those. More strong ones include; GH Brown Bogie, Brown Irish X, SG Black XX and Brown No. 4.

    What Does “System” Pipe Mean?

System pipes are actually quite easy to clean. And no, one does not draw moisture from the reservoir at all. I find just the opposite - a very dry and free flowing smoke. It's obvious that I prefer the Pete system pipes, which I own several of. These well made pipes are in my regular...

How/What Beverages do You Pair with Your Pipe?

My preferences in summer are iced tea, iced coffee and occasionally a nice cold ale or stout. In winter, I like strong coffee, expresso or a good hot black or oolong tea. Unlike with cigars, I do not prefer bourbons, rums or whiskeys with pipes, as those tend to overpower the nuances in fine...

What Do You Think About Neerup Pipes?

I currently own five by Neerup / Peder Jeppensen under the Neerup & 4th Generation names. Anmazingly well built and heavy proportioned pipes. I am well pleased with all of them and will certainly be picking up more. These are among my favorites! puffy

    Thoughts on a Second Pipe

Buy from a known source. Stay away from eBay - I've got some that were horribly misrepresented. SP here has estates that are little more $$$, but you know exactly what you are getting and they back their pipes fully. I've bought from them for years and have always been pleased with my...

    Thoughts on a Second Pipe

Trust your gut - go with the cobjitt! They smoke very nicely and ARE a bit cooler than shorter pipes. Also, they have a bit thicker walls and do not seem to heat up much. Cobbits are a good starting pipe that you will likely use as a go-to for years. Best of all, they look good, smoke good and...

    Balkan vs English

Note that there are several Oriental and Turkish tobaccos that are used in Balkans and English blends, with Latakia being arguably the most well known. Some are buttery and rich, while others are spicy and a bit rough. Personally, I'd consider a blend Balkan that which one experiences a light...
