Learning Tons But Cannot Stop Smoking Runs

BTW- any ideas how to slow my cadence? I honestly cannot seem to. I enjoy the tastes and only regret it in the earliest of hours (palate says "WTF" lol) I mean I cannot explain. I realize I have an addictive personality but not matter how relaxed I am/try- I smoke 'em as they come. Please...

Learning Tons But Cannot Stop Smoking Runs

Agreed. I am sorry I posted angrily on the other forum subject (what are you smoking) but why do I feel like everyone needs to show what they smoke or how they do it? I guess I expect more about the tobac than- "hey look this is what I used and a nice new tin". Seems like a waste vs. real...

***What Are You Smoking? December 2019.***

Why do I find it odd folks take pics of their pipes (done it once now and feel dirty lol) and their tins? I can't help that perhaps we should show off our "rides", guns, toys, and how cool I am today. I am sure I get the boot after this comment. Life shall continue. I love my bit of a collection...

Not Real Comfy But Here I Am CO Springs

Hello. Been using the Internet to figure out what to use and what to smoke for months now. Overdue to at least say hello. Smoking pipes about 4 months now though gave it a shot as early as 19. Was a big cigar smoker when I was healthier and when life/career was kind. Once a day in the hot tub...

Learning Tons But Cannot Stop Smoking Runs

LOL. 3 pints of rum and coke? Sounds like about 8 shots. I hear ya. Sounds like that may mix well. When refined- I do the port wine. Else, vodka and seltzer. Must be my issue also. Amusingly- perhaps we've crossed paths. Ambien and my PK's finish me off to start over. Not too proud of that part...

    Is This a Burnout?

Thanks- zero holes. Just broken in I thought but I guess I best look at that photo when it's not 1:30 am- perhaps; (my couple real pipes vs. corns)

Boswells Any love? On The Fence

Thanks- I am not upset and I do like the "Berry Cobbler" which I got for room notes. I am fine with the "Best" for an aromatic. Tried to do the "Countryside"- see other post. I found that really heavy on Latakia- saving for a camping trip lol. Pipes looked awesome but what do I know. I am...

    Is This a Burnout?

Darn- cleaner that some of my pipes. Am I screwing up? I stopped using the reamer them too much and allow them to get a darker even coat. I clean the heck out of them with pipe cleaners. I mean I am using them like they are going out of style at least after a bowl. Is that a mistake? I don't...

Learning Tons But Cannot Stop Smoking Runs

So thanks a ton to all and thank God for the Internet as I failed decades ago with stupidity with pipe smoking. Anyways- why do I get on runs late at night and end up smoking 3-6 bowls? I end up in bed at 2-4 am. Partially as I don't have time to enjoy even physically retired too young and...

    Hiccups

Nicotine... I get that if I try chew and such. Funny- I could smoke a strong maduro or my too many bowls in a row. If I take a pinch of tobacco (tired with some aromatic PT's)- boom. At least for me.

Never Put Your Finger in the Bowl...

Explains my burdened stained fingers. That and "cleaning" my tobacco. Glad I am not alone or a complete moron for a beginner.

No Really, It's Me, Not You (Davidoff)

Funny- I found Davidoff's way overpriced on the cigar side when I was a heavy avid cigar smoker. Of course everyone's taste differ on cigars as well but I never felt they warranted the price. I know a lot of folks found them smooth and perfect smokes but I found good Ashtons that were much more...

Boswells Any love? On The Fence

So I am far from any expert. Perhaps, I should keep my hole shut yet but I am curious to anyone that has feedback. I bought a bunch of 2oz samplers basically. I recall "Berry Cobbler" mentioned for wifey's and room notes. It works ok for an aromatic and it's not a heavy room blaster with my HEPA...

I Really Wanted to Move to an English Blend; Boswell Countryside

Sounds perfect. I actually do have some of Lane's "boring" stuff 1Q and Creme Brulee (I think that Lane or perhaps Sutliff) which I've blasphemously blended with other ones to give it some more lift. 1Q is a reason I end up puffing away too fast I think.

I Really Wanted to Move to an English Blend; Boswell Countryside

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I did read up on Latakia but I somehow thought this highly rated blend would work for me (rated only be a few though). I think I will do as lawdawg mentioned. I do not camp much now thanks to my ruined spine/cervical cord but I try and I could see that being the...

I Really Wanted to Move to an English Blend; Boswell Countryside

Thanks rdoss16 - that makes sense. I could be wrong but I think this blend went heavy on it. I asked my wife to smell and she could not get near it lol. That's a 1st for her though not a smoker. Any thoughts on taking the 2 oz I have of that Boswell Countryside and finding a blend to further...

    Flavoured Tobacco

I've liked CAO's sometimes in the hot tub (wifey only smokes those so I make get one). I've done Drew's and really loved the Atom Maduro's when fresh and leathery- they are strange but somehow amazing. Matter of fact, I took a box to Huatulco, MX and my cigar huffing friend loved them. But they...

I Really Wanted to Move to an English Blend; Boswell Countryside

EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in and Shortened Title - Bob So I keep hearing about English blends are a must. I thought after about 3-4 months of smoking pipes I'd be ready. I wanted to try some Boswells. Most are fine that I got but the Countryside (I was excited for that one) tasted sooo odd at...

Thoughts on Some Old Stanwell / Wellington Pipes to Start Collection?- Newbie

Thanks!- well the Savinelli I mentioned is the new one on the way- 320 KS rusticated. Hoping that was a good choice. I am not positive on the Rossi I have. Bought that (overpaid I'm sure) at a tobacconist as I really was dying for a decent pipe. So I guess I can recondition them and I guess I...
