So I am far from any expert. Perhaps, I should keep my hole shut yet but I am curious to anyone that has feedback.
I bought a bunch of 2oz samplers basically. I recall "Berry Cobbler" mentioned for wifey's and room notes. It works ok for an aromatic and it's not a heavy room blaster with my HEPA on.
Could not hack their English blend of Countryside. Not yet anyways as it's loaded with Latakia IMHO.
Smoking the "Boswell's Best" - it's fine but if that's the best, not sure how to feel. I do actually like it but I could of sworn it was described as not a complete aromatic and that is really what I come away with. It burns fine, it comes off with a tangy flavor of vanillas. I don't get a bite and likely I could smoke it all nite- no rhyme intended.
I do think there's more to it than a 1Q which I end up throwing more into those (the blasphemy I guess).
But I am not sold on the other few I have that I won't review yet.

Anyone care to chime in?
What about their pipes?
Lastly- why does it seem so that so many cigars (now PT's) I've bought over the years are out of PA? Taxes? Curious and I guess a "Google" would tell me.

Anyways, I have a half bowl left in my Sav to finish.

Thx

I like Boswell’s aromatics, particularly raspberry cream and pipers pleasure. Their english blend Northwoods is a must try IMO, although if you don’t like latakia (at least not yet) it won’t be for you.

His (their if you include Dan) piles are very well respected. I own one (a big, although fairly normally shaped freehand) and it smokes quite well. I really want one of their black coal finish canadians or billiards but I’m waiting for the right one at the right price. I also really want one of the shotshell mount ones. But again, waiting for “the one.”

Their pipes also always come with cleaners, matches, and 2oz of one of their blends. Classy move.

Boswell’s also has a good selection of other tobaccos. They are a little pricier, but some of the harder stuff to find (gawith, astleys, wessex, rattray’s, etc) hangs around there longer than on big sites.

short story long, I’m a fan.

Thanks- I am not upset and I do like the "Berry Cobbler" which I got for room notes. I am fine with the "Best" for an aromatic. Tried to do the "Countryside"- see other post. I found that really heavy on Latakia- saving for a camping trip lol.
Pipes looked awesome but what do I know.
I am smoking my 2nd bowel in a row (bad idea?) of their "Boswell's Best). It's fine for me.
I had no problem with the prices at the end of the day.
Thanks

I have 2 well smoking Boswell pipes that are a good Bargain for hand made pipes. I believe at least 3 different people craft them, but I enjoy mine and Dan was very personable when I visited one of their stores.

Christmas Cookie is a winter favorite for me and all of their blends I've tried have been fairly good on the moisture content. Going forward, I will just stick to their pipes, unless I'm visiting one of their stores. I've found Watch City Cigar house blends far superior (at least the non aromatics).

I have 3 Boswell pipes, and I find them to be great smokers. I prefer the nose warmers to the giant pipes. I like to clench them while in the yard or driving. They have a nice heft, and I really love the black rustication they do. I've never had a problem with them, and Boswell offers some tobacco and little goodies with a purchase. It seems like maybe the popularity has gone down in the past couple years though, as I remember there being a frantic page-refresh scramble when they posted their new stuff on the site each week. It seems like now they have more available.

As for the tobacco, I have large quantities in my cellar. For aromatics, I like No Bite Delight. It has a really good caramel flavor to it and smells great. Their Bear Blend is about the only cherry tobacco I can stand, and it is tasty at that. I must have 4 lbs of the stuff right now. For English, I just bought 2 more lbs of Northwoods. It's just so good.

Boswell's aromatics are some of the best in the industry. I also like Northwoods as well, but of course as mentioned in your thread on Countryside, Northwoods is a latakia blend so it may not be up your alley.

Agreed on Christmas Cookie. I also like Cupcake a lot and think it's even better than the more popular Christmas Cookie. Guess there just aren't a lot of guys out there wanting to smoke a blend called "Cupcake" puffy

Looking through my cellar today I found Boswell Cupcake. Smoking now and really enjoying it. Wife checks off on room note

The tobaccos are not bad if you like aromatics. North woods is a good Latakia blend with a nice topping.
As for the pipes, I’m not a fan. I had 3 and sold all of them. The only pipes I have ever sold. Kind of clunky for my tastes and couldn’t get a good smoke out of them.

I really like some of the shotshell pipes too. I'm not really a big gun guy, but i do like shotguns and the shells make for a real nice mount/accent. Since i like thinner shanks maybe i can get mine with a .410 shell
I am a big hunter and I would love one for a cabin pipe. Unfortunately the ones Ive had a shot at (ho ho!) are either too expensive, or came with some funky ass ninja turtle ooze green stem. Kind of contrasts with the rustic feel of the stummel and mount, hahaha.
