Pipesmagazine.com Forum is Just Plain Fun!

Do you remember Random on ASP? That fellow was every listed category. Truly one of a kind.

    Great forum BUT...

I don't know. I was born with a todger of stunning proportions and it continued to grow until I reached early adulthood. Therefore I've been blessed with an inability to notice minor arguments and an unwillingness to fight about pipes and tobaccos. But I still don't have balls big enough to...

Flavor Overload (in a good way)

Bloody hell, no, I haven't. You speak of flavors that would awake the dead. I merely sip Virginia or vapers. What need have I to overwhelm my palate? I've been treating her like a lady for years.

    A Question to Ponder...

No. I don't live in such a place. Why do you ask me?

    Removing Screw-In Stems After Smoking

Sablebrush is nearly always right. I can say this because I read what he says and don't know him personally and I still agree with almost all of what he says pipe-related.

Humectants in Kohlhase & Kopp Blends?

Frankly, no. K und K are the last of the great houses, in my opinion, and deserve praise and purchases. They do Virginias right.

    Risk of ghosting a pipe

I'm a dinosaur and tend to only really smoke Virginias or mild Virginia Perique mixtures; however, I fear no ghost. Sometimes the combination is delightful, sometimes it is frightful, but ghosting is just a fact of life.

    Falcon Pipes Question

Let us know when you do I love Falcons. Perfect knock around gardening pipe.

I bought an odd Peterson System Pipe

That's the only straight system Peterson makes. Enjoy it!

    Meer Polishing / Sanding Question

Fascinating conversation I can add nothing to except ask everyone to keep it up. Oh, and I dont have the balls to sand my meeerschaums.

Talk to Me About Wrist Watches

From one Paul to another, yes. It's a Garmin vivoactive 3, which does all kinds of sporty things like measure your heartrate, track sleep patterns, count steps, program fitnessy he-man woman-hating things. And it still manages to be spectacularly ugly.

Talk to Me About Wrist Watches

I wear a simple steel Rolex Date I inherited. And I have a smart watch in the mail, a gift I'm going to have to pretend to like.

    Kretek International Acquires Tobaccoreviews.com

Nah, I doubt they'd do anything like that, but I'd bet the feel will change. Who knows, maybe for the better? Maybe they can get rid of the reviews from people that clearly never smoked the tobacco.

    Indian(?) Antler PIPES

Antler? Antler? What makes you sure it’s something so prosaic? I think they’re made out of the spine of a scoliotic wolverine. You can tell by the way the bowl curves.

Show Off Your Meerschaum Pipes Here!

Gatorlope, That’s an underbore meerschaum pipe, designed to both “cool the smoke” and to provide a mechanism by which all the goos dropped to the bottom of the outer bowl; that’s a very useful feature in an age before pipe cleaners. It is not some unknown organic substance with flaws that have...

Aromatic Blends for the Non-Aromatic Smoker

HGL, Perfection, St Bruno Flake, Bob's Chocolate/Mayors Collection Chocolate, a lot of the Gawith blends. But if your wife is like mine, it can largely be a question of mood. A tobacco she adores today when you're her hero can elicit a different reaction tomorrow when you're in the dog house.

    18th Century Meerschaum???

Brother, you're all right by me. I really hope you get to the bottom of this. Just a thought, but why dont you email some photos to the tobacco pipe artistory blog? They would know and I'm really hoping that's a historical pipe. That shape is like a ship's prow.

    18th Century Meerschaum???

It’s the lost pipe of Olaf (Ole) Ewearenütson, first Norwegian to step foot on the shores of the English New World. Deported for stealing herring over the value of 21 shillings (a shitload of shad), he arrived in Philadelphia in April 1, 1723. Together with his wife, Lena, he set up a...
