    Hay & Molasses...

I absolutely love the flavors of hay and molasses. Call it the country side of me. What blends do you feel have the most of these flavors? Blends, that is, that do not have molasses as flavorings or casings.

    Solani 633...What am I Missing????

That's where I put it. I think I'll back off the Latakia blends for a while, force myself to slow down, and come back to it in a couple of months.

    Solani 633...What am I Missing????

Just got it last week from smokingpipes. So, I would think it's pretty fresh.

    Solani 633...What am I Missing????

I can see all of that...I did pack it "full" today & did not let it dry out any. Also, the latakia heavy blends tend to be my go-to's. How would that affect it?

    Solani 633...What am I Missing????

So, I'm not really experienced with the VaPer blends...I've had a few, GLP's Haddo's Delight for one, & it's pretty good. PS's Luxury Bullseye Flake is very good & great with coffee! I was excited to try the 633 because there are so many great reviews about it. SP.com calls it "the Champaign of...

    Ernest Hemingway's Pipe...

Absolutely! I love it! And, it makes me look much smarter! Though, it obviously doesn't seem to make me much smarter~

    Ernest Hemingway's Pipe...

Okay! You all are correct that is Faulkner... Maybe that's why my grammar is better! However my sentences make less sense.

    Ernest Hemingway's Pipe...

Ooooooh don't tell me that! Dang!

    Ernest Hemingway's Pipe...

There has been that, kind of, iconic image of Ernest Hemingway smoking a pipe that I have seen many times. The pipe he is smoking is long and large and is just the kind of pipe that I wanted. A while back while searching for a new pipe I found a Ser Jacopo estate pipe that could be the twin of...

    Alternative to Margate Revised...

Nope. Just blend it with a few quick pulses. You just want the pieces about 1/2 their original size

    Alternative to Margate Revised...

So, a short while back I proposed an alternative to Esoterica Tobacciana's Margate, my favorite blend of all-time...so far. It's typically difficult to come by and the 1st tin I ever bought was my local B&M's last tin. When hit with a roadblock, I love to look at these situations as challenges...

    Maybe an Alternative to Margate

It just so happens that Arango/Stokkebye Balkan Supreme is on my list to try next! Thanks!

    Maybe an Alternative to Margate

    I would bet so!

    Maybe an Alternative to Margate

Yes. The first Margate and Pembroke I purchased were the last my local B&M had. If I find it, I will buy more. In the meantime, instead of chasing it down, I would rather have a good stand-in. And, it's a challenge to get around roadblocks.

    Maybe an Alternative to Margate

Here's an addition to my original post: to simulate margate's and shag cut I run the mix through a single speed food processor for just a few seconds. I try to get the pieces about half their original ribbon cut size.

    Maybe an Alternative to Margate

Just throwing this out there: After quite a lot of taste testing and crazy amount of research, (I think I've gone off the deep end with this pipe smoking thing...) I have figured out my favorite blend taste (right now) is Esoterico Tobacciano's Margate. Obviously this is extremely hard to get...
