    If a pouch isn't hermetically sealed, it's shelf life in a store is limited before it starts to deteriorate. This isn't an issue with a tub.

    I have 7 pipes that I smoke every day. One or two pipes get used each day. I ream and clean every 4 to 6 months. During and after smoking I always run a pipe cleaner through and leave the pipe cleaner in until they cool down. Never had any issues. Been smoking pipes for 45 years.

    I have 7 pipes, all premium brands. 3 of them have been with me for 45 years. My pipe rack holds 7 pipes. I smoke every day and I don't need or want any more.

    Carter Hall and Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic are my regular staples, always buy tubs. My favorite premium is Dunhill / Peterson Standard Mixture. Right now I've been really enjoying Amphora Virginia.
