    Custom Blends at Home

Oh and ive been looking at a pasta press too for making pucks. Not sure that will accomplish a better tasting blend though,Anyone care to comment? It just seems like a convenient way to store tobacco for spacial reason. Again, no expert here, but i hear it makes a cake, i would want to make a...

    Custom Blends at Home

Im very new at trying my hand at this, but am currently exploring mixing otc with various degrees of dark fired ky. As of right now, my best blend has been equal parts Granger and ODF (HH series). I just mixed up some 40% Bold Ky with 60% Granger and dont find it as good. Two things: Let it...

    Need Recommendations

All/most already mentioned, but when I crossed that bridge, I chose to ease into the pool rather than cannonball in via Lat bomb. With that mentality, and readily available options, I’d say Proper English / English Oriential Supreme / Westminster…or my personal favorite Standard Mixture.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2023?***

Quiet Nights in my favorite English pipe. Kilarney (Red) 53. So good…

    2014 GLP Quiet Nights

Enjoying some right now, albeit much younger. This is one of those blends for me that prove the point, you just have to stick with it some times. I found it too florial the first time I tried it (maybe a 6 month old tin). That dies down and everything comes together nicely after a while...

    Rubber pipe bits

I almost exclusively clench and so, used to use them on every pipe. Until….I bought my Briarworks Devil Anse. What I found was if the stem aggressively taperes to the mouth piece, then all the softy bits do is make your jaw open wider = harder to clench. If it’s a lovat or a nice easy...

    Birthday Presents to Yourself

Echoing earlier sentiments, need: nothing. However for my birthday earlier this year, decided I like Stratford a lot and ordered a tin each of Fillmore and Tellagraph Hill for comparison. The TH came in and the sticker on the bottom had my birth date on it. Cool, Ill save that one for a...

    Favorite Peterson Blends

Oh yea, I hear you there. Ive started tinkering with the ratio of Bold Kentucky into Granger. Man when that is right is it fantastic…I think the ratio is important, but equally so is letting it sit for a few weeks before getting in it.

    Favorite Peterson Blends

Same here. They are about the only two Petersons I regularly smoke…like them both dearly, but need something more cost effective for “day to day” smokes.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2023?***

Good old Elizabethan in a Rossi 8122. Two of my favorites. A little chilly out here tonight…

    Stop The Gurgle.

Ive only been at this a few years…just recently heard someone relay that trick. Man its been life changing for me - a wet smoker. Ive got a pete 338 that I love to smoke, but is a gurgler, and next to impossible to pass a pipe cleaner. Just flick back through the stem then rock and roll...

What's your First Bowl in the Morning ?

Cant beat Peterson Standard Mixture with a dark roast coffee. When Im out of that, Ill typically reach for Granger or Sir Walter…but it’s not as good in my opinion; there’s something about that specific english mixture w/ coffee to my taste buds.

    Putting my Pipes Away

Interesting, didnt realize that. All the Brazilians who work for the same company I do smoke Dunhill cigarettes like mad. Both young and old associates. I always assumed tobacco law was more laid back down there.

    Anyone Smoked a "carburated" pipe?

The other pipes I’ve smoked with similar feature: you keep your finger over it during a drag and then release the finger when you inhale…which we don't do with pipes / tobacco. Seems silly to me

    Order size

In regards to the special releases and how many I buy, vs my normal purchase of, say OGS…im fortune to have a few good B&Ms around me. Which allow me to buy one. And should I like it, I’ll get another.
