    Shiny to Dull

Copious amounts of elbow grease, an old rough towel, and acetone stripped it down pretty good. Now I've taken a pipe cleaner's worth of Fieblings blotted out on a towel, and repeated after it dried each time, we'll see how that works... Otherwise maybe HomDepot has SUPER dull shellac ?

    All My Pipes Smoke Hot

"put the damn pipe down" (slow down and enjoy the process) that and "sipping" has been the solution all along, I just had to discover this on my own with the comments y'all provided :)

guilty of "bottom of the tin"

hey guys, Are any of you (as I) guilty of taking the "bottom of the tin" and throwing it all into one? If it's one of my favorites of course I put it into the next tin of the same. Otherwise I'm just too cheap to throw it out, or maybe it's kind of just experimenting a bit, but I throw it into...

    All My Pipes Smoke Hot

So tonight I cleaned a rifle as I smoked some 3 Nuns. The only problem I had while smoking, as I cleaned, was that I had to relight everytime. Is this the experience old codgers have? If so I'm good with that. I know when I puff as I have, I rarely need to relight. thoughts? Todd

    All My Pipes Smoke Hot

kanse, naaah, not the blend. It's with all my pipes, across all my tobaccos. The smoke itself is cool, just the pipes' outsides are hot, and I don't want to crack a bowl. I think it's as Cajun and Bassbug shared. It's a matter of just going too fast because I'm enjoying the smoke, and I don't...

    Shiny to Dull

ssjones, I would think that a scrotchbrite would also take off the stain, then I'm back to re-staining it. So far there is still enough stain on it to be black. I just noticed that as I applied the acetone black stain was also coming off and the pipe still had a bit of shine to it. Does anyone...

Any tips for getting a stem bck into the shank

Mike, I do know the rule to never take apart a hot pipe. I always wait to clean mine till at least the day after, and I don't want to interrupt my "relaxed state of mind" from enjoying the smoke. There is Teflon spray in a can... Todd

    All My Pipes Smoke Hot

The Old Cajun, I've been doing as you've said except for the part, "The most important part is light it up and then forget about the damn pipe, read the book... " I can't read :D naaah, I just enjoy the smoke sooo much, but I get your "forget about the damn pipe" point :) Thanks guys! Todd

    the Navy blend?

Is there a general description of what's to be considered a "Navy Blend" kind of like what defines a VaPer or Kentucky? Maybe an easier way to define, is what's a classic "Navy" blend?

    All My Pipes Smoke Hot

The problem is, I just love the smoke, tastes wonderful and so relaxing. Pipes to cigars I liken to fly fishn' vs. bass crank-bait. I'll try to slow down even more... Thanks! Todd
