    smoking the long stems

As I've said in many posts before, in this forum posting pics is a pita. All the other forums that I participate in pics are drag-and-drop. There's really no reason why this forum should not be the same. georged, You are wrong. Just because I don't post a picture, doesn't mean that it never...

    smoking the long stems

lightbriar, my original post clearly stated the pipe is an older Dunhill 10" long Canadian estate; however, I would concur that this same phenomenology would likely be true of a churchwarden. so how/why would those long churchwarden pipes smoke any easier?

    smoking the long stems

Good morning guys, I have an older Dunhill 10" long Canadian estate. I find it very difficult to smoke. Obviously there are pipes out there with much longer stems & shanks than 10". Except for the Frog Morton series (which I would call a medium/coarse ribbon cut, some might disagree), I mostly...

    loss of flavor vs. smoke-ability

Good morning guys, I'm wondering what you all think about the loss of flavor vs. smoke-ability of any given tobacco? If I dry out (by whatever means) any given "clump" of tobacco to the point where it is easily smokeable, how much flavor have I lost? On the other hand if I don't dry out the...

Have enjoyed all three of them! Samuel Gawith's and the 5100 Red Cake, have a pretty good nicotine hit. I'll remember that...

    Looking for a "Classic Virginia"

So after reading a few reviews I'm thinking to give Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake and McClelland's #22 a try. Are these two far apart on the Virgina scale, or somewhat similar. I already enjoy the GL Pease Union Square and Capstan Gold, how do these 4 compare? like to hear your thoughts on...

    Open up the Bowl Diameter

well I sat it in near boiling water for several minutes and the stem would not bend, not sure what Stokkebye made this stem from? I've used the boiling water methods on other stems to reshape them, but not on this one. Now she whistles where the stem meets the shank, hopefully that'll go away...
