Lol...it would be too much of a headache..I am rather carying a real gun instead of heat gun with me and no way I would carry a hair dryer to the places where I smoke my meers during the day..but I got your point...- NC TX ID pipeman

I guess you are right...each block of meer reacts differently to the coloring process..so there may be no general answer to that..I would never be happy to buy a precolored one...it is cheating for me but somebody may not care so its fine for him....- NC TX ID pipeman

I was just comparing 3 smokes over 3days(1 time a day) and 3 smokes during 1 day..it colored more during that 1 day when smoked 3 times...so far my observations are you do not need a rest the pipe..you need to smoke it several times a day if your desire is to color it faster...resting it would...- NC TX ID pipeman

You could not heard of it..its my theory..my newer pipe did not colored last 3 smokes smoked during 3 days as much as it colored today smoked 3 times in a row...- NC TX ID pipeman

Smoking a new pipe
I usually wet the sides inside the bowl twice with wet finger if pipe is uncoated...and smoke slow the whole full bowl- NC TX ID pipeman

Smoking on the Appalachian Trail
A lot less people and civilization...I only hiked PCT for 3 weeks first but feeligs I had afterwards were unusual...back in a civilization i felt too much noise.driving in a car was feeling that is too fast .rooms i entered were too square...everything felt different..And it was only 3 weeks in...- NC TX ID pipeman

Thanks for very interesting reply!!! If I remember it right they did not have a real 4AB stem to look at so Peterson folks created it from the picture...If they new you got the real stem it wood have been even better.....They never replicate the exact copy of historical pipe..I have no idea...- NC TX ID pipeman

Yep..stem on this Genod pipe is shorter,bend is more gradual and it is not as gradually tapered and narrow shaped as real 4AB stem and no p lip but to me bowl looks the same (I did not checked the meassurments)..I bet if somebody smoking this Genod pipe 6 foot away you may think he smokes 4AB...- NC TX ID pipeman

I live of and on in NC coast and for 19 years I have never seen year like 2020 and 2021 when it rained for so long that most of my stuff got whitish green mold on them..specially leather stuff.furniture.clothes etc.For gods sake pipes did not get it for some reason but it was a horrible...- NC TX ID pipeman
