    MacBaren HH Burley Flake

Dang! That sounds like me with Pegasus. I am thinking about buying some HH Burley Flake. A friend sent me two flakes to try along with Cobblestone Hiking. I liked both and was leaning more towards Cobblestone. I was looking for a replacement for Wessex Burley Slice for when I run out, everyone...

War Horse Bar is a winner!

I wish you guys would figure out how Kentucky Club Mild was made and make a copy. I miss that stuff. But War Horse is some good tobacco. I smoked the green for a while but when I got a hold of a tin of the Bar/red, well this one is terrific! I love it and it reminds me of AVANTI cigars.

    Lane Vanilla Black Cavendish match?

I'm with you on Cornell and Deihl vanilla black Cavendish. I bought two ounces of it and it was sopping wet in the bag. When I was trying to pack a bowl the tobacco had a weird greasyness on my fingers. I was suprised because I like C and D blends a lot. I got about 4 or 5 puffs in and I put it...

Country Squire's Middle Earth Series to be Renamed.

Not as long as you don't have an image of Luke or Han sitting on the wing of an X-Wing smoking a pipe on the tin.

Country Squire's Middle Earth Series to be Renamed.

Kind of weird. The name "Toby" and the word "old" are not illegal to say. At least not in the country I live in.

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

I did too, that's why I added the sweetened black Cavendish to it. But now I absolutely love it as is. I've been getting a pound at a time and literally burning through it. I'm getting ready to reorder another one. I wish Pipesandcigars would sell it, it's a Pennsylvania based company and I...

    C&D Pegasus

Sir, you were right , you were SO right. I actually love Pegasus now without the vanilla black Cavendish added. You told me and I didn't listen. I had to order another pound because I want it without anything in it. I smoked up my last unadulterated batch and now I'm waiting at the door like a...

    That Old School Aroma

A friend of mine acquired a few boxes of George Washington pipe tobacco. They are boxed with the pouch inside just like how Half &Half came in when Pinkerton was making it and Granger. Anyway, he sent me one and I was very tempted to open it because I absolutely love Prince Albert. Since PA and...

    Best Match Codger Blends

Now that is some good tobacco! It actually gets better with jar time as well. I like Flying Dutchman match and Field & Stream along with Revelation match. The only thing with the Revelation match is the inconsistencies with batches. Most times it's great then other times the topping is...

    Best Match Codger Blends

Now that is some good tobacco! It actually gets better with jar time as well. I like Flying Dutchman match and Field & Stream along with Revelation match. The only thing with the Revelation match is the inconsistencies with batches. Most times it's great then other times the topping is nonexistent.

    Best Match Codger Blends

I'm going to try it. It's funny you mentioned the filter. I have some Sugar Barrel and Walnut that was gifted to me and I love them. But I have to use a filter. Prince Albert is my everyday smoke, no filter with that, PA is the smoothest burley on the market for me.

    Best Match Codger Blends

I actually like Lane's Ready Rubbed compared to Sutliffs. I get terrible tongue bite from Sutliffs Edgeworth match. But their Field & Stream match and Revelation match is fantastic!

    Best Match Codger Blends

Oh how I miss Kentucky Club Mild. I started smoking a pipe right when it was axed by Middleton. I bought a few tubs at Ekerds drugstore, then it was gone for good. I miss all the Middleton pipe tobaccos, they were inexpensive, tasty and smelled great. They were also comfortable, if that makes...

    Best Match Codger Blends

Chatham Manor destroys my tongue. I bought it when it first came out because I wanted a cheaper Carter Hall. CH was my everyday smoke for a couple years and it was getting expensive. After I tried Chatham Manor for about a week I ended up ordering two tubs of Carter Hall then jarring up the...

    Smoker’s Pride Cherry Cavendish

I mix the Smoker's Pride Cherry Cavendish and Vanilla Cavendish 50/50 then put them in Mason Jars for a few months to meld. I have a few years worth of cellaring tobacco, well maybe about 9 to 10 years of storing blends. Most of my stash is otc and bulk Lane and Sutliff stuff, some C&D ,mainly...

    All Day Blends

I have a tub that I continue to just keep filling with the bulk version when I get low. Sutliffs #600 Mixture-79 is really good. Seems like the bulk is toned down a bit and it's easier to keep lit. It's also more economical to buy 10 ounces at a time and dump it in my tub lol.

    All Day Blends

You know, I needed a filter also when I smoked Kentucky Club Mild. When I tried it in one of my Kaywoodies it did bite me. Smoking it in my Dr. Grabows with a DG filter I got no bite at all. How was the room note? That and the taste is what attracted me to Kentucky Club.

    All Day Blends

It's kind of funny, the pipe tobaccos that were made for all day smoking back through the 1940s up till now, well, most give me terrible tongue bite. Velvet, Granger, Half & Half and a few others. Sir Walter Raleigh regular and aromatic don't, and neither does Prince Albert. Carter Hall is...

Lane Limited RLP-6 and a Smile

LL-7 reminds me of my favorite Captain Black pipe tobacco, Copper. CB Copper was literally a masterpiece aromatic and of course Lane had to discontinue making it.
