Lane Limited RLP-6 and a Smile

HGL is fantastic. I get 8 ounces at a time then add two ounces of my RLP-6 stash to it. Makes the room note better for the family. I've had RLP-6 and Captain Black Original bulk blend side by side. I miss the CB bulk. It is different, not by much but they definitely looked like a different cut...

    Which Tobacco after Which Meal?

Pegasus, Winchester and Big N' Burley will give you more than enough nicotine!

Lane Limited RLP-6 and a Smile

MV-1000 is basically Captain Black Gold, but it's not lol. If you were to smoke MV and CB gold side by side you would not tell a difference. The CB gold bites a little to where MV doesn't. But to me they taste and smell the same.

    Peterson University Flake review

I've liked University Flake for years. For me it has a blueberry aroma and taste. Not heavy but any means, but it's definitely there. I have to smoke it in a Savinelli or Rossi because of the need of the charcoal filter. I get tongue bite very easily. Has nothing to do with cadence, or packing...

    C&D Winchester & Others

I have a pound aging. I need to order another pound to smoke. I'm a burley smoker through and through, Prince Albert was my everyday for years and Sir Walter Raleigh regular before that. Red Virginia used to give me the spins, but I started smoking Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake so I think I...

    C&D Winchester & Others

Neither did I Grangerous. Virginia tends to destroy my tongue and the roof of my mouth if I don't smoke it with either a 9mm or 6mm charcoal filter. Winchester on the other hand is smooth as butter on raisin and cinnamon toast. My youngest really likes the smell of it when I smoke it. When he's...

    Red Virginias

Man, I bet that stuff is delicious ten fold now with some age on that red Virginia!

Unflavored Blends with Pleasing Room Note

I have a feeling you really like SWRA lol. It was my second all day smoke. I'm pretty sure Carter Hall was my first everyday smoke. But I know I smoked SIr Walter Raleigh aromatic for a few years and nothing else. I still have a few unopened tubs in my cellar. After smoking Pegasus and...

    C&D Winchester & Others

I'm thinking the same thing. I am REALLY digging Winchester. But I believe the red Virginia has a molasses casing and the unsweetened black Cavendish has a liquor flavoring or something it's steamed with. This blend is too smooth like you said to be pure.

    Seeking Natural Flavor

I'd say try Cornell and Diehl's Winchester. Red Virginia and unsweetened black cavendish. All tobacco has a casing. If it didn't, it would be bitter. Most of the natural tasting tobacco is cased with liquorice. Not for flavor, but as a neutralizer, it makes the tobacco taste natural. Anyway...

    C&D Winchester & Others

That is so weird that you mentioned how it has almost cigar notes to it. I thought the very same thing. I can't stop sniffing the jar! It is such a great blend. I've been cellaring Winchester and Pegasus, deep cellaring it. I don't ever want to be without it. I can't say this enough, you were...

    C&D Winchester & Others

I got my love of Pegasus straight now. I smoke it as is and love it. I buy it by the pound, no more adding vanilla Cavendish to it. I bought four ounces of Winchester because of a friend who switched from Velvet to Winchester raved about it. I loved it from bowl one. Now my main smokes are...

    Sam Gawith Burnt Ends

Funny you said that about St. Bruno. I'm with you on that. I spent 18 bucks for tins of Flake and for some reason I dig the RR better. Seems like it has more flavor. Plus, there are times when I catch a half a flake in the pouch.

    Question about Prince Albert

I've still have a pouch and a 10oz tub of Middleton's Cherry. I smoked though 8 pouches in the last couple years that a friend sent me. Another friend sent me a generous sample of 1970s Cherry Blend and when I tell you it was fantastic, I'm not lying! The blend definitely changed throughout the...

    Question about Prince Albert

Been a Prince Albert smoker for years. I actually live 20 minutes from the King of Prussia facility. Even though they moved the pipe tobacco production to the Dominican Republic they are still using U.S. grown Piedmont burley, white burley and turkish. I worked at a place that warehoused a lot...

    Eight State Burley New Impressions

I was gifted two tins of Eight State Burley. One of the tins was opened with maybe two bowls missing. I left it in the tin and smoked it periodically. The last few bowls were fantastic. After about six months I opened the other tin. When I opened it the tobacco smelled nothing like the other...

Unflavored Blends with Pleasing Room Note

I'm not really a virginia guy but C&D Elegant Series After Hours Flake gets good responses from my youngest son. When I was smoking Gawith Hoggarth Brown Flake A he said that it reminded him of Christmas time. When I smoke Prince Albert and Pegasus both my sons say it reminds them of "Dad".

    Savinelli Full Bent Billiard

I'm a billiard guy. Two Christmases ago my oldest son bought me a Savinelli Roma 614. He gets me a new Savinelli every year for Christmas. I really wanted one but when I got it I didn't like it that much. I have some regular bents that I smoke aromatics in and they are fine, but the full bent...

    Boswell Premium Burley Review

I've been meaning to try the Irish Flake. I'm really digging the strong flakes like FVF and 1792 flake. Now Wessex Burley Slice is my favorite burley flake though, but it doesn't have that "umph" that I crave when I'm smoking. I think thats why I like Pegasus as my everyday smoke now. Does that...

    Boswell Premium Burley Review

It's a shame Lane Limited Ready Rubbed is discontinued. That is some fantastic burley pipe tobacco. When Prince Albert was MIA for that year I panicked because it was my everyday smoke. I bought five tubs of Ready Rubbed because I liked it also and was planning on it replacing PA. I smoked a tub...
