    I know they are not perfect that would be a fancy to believe everything you ever buy will be perfect I have been into pipe for over 10 years and yes I have gotten some flawed pipes but I always found a way to fix the problem

    I do it more like the second way cutting it into a flake then rubbing it out then letting it dry then packing it.

    So I was initially looking at the the 80’s P lip but a few other ones caught my eye and If I could I would buy them all. I have and have had Peterson pipes and they were among my favorites.

    I’m not sure about the older ones but the ones I have been looking at now are with nickel. I’m sure they are Great solid pipes the review I have seen on them are all pretty much all positive.

    Welcome.I am stationed in Texas but currently doing a humanitarian deployment in Indiana. I agree with smoking different sized pipes with differ not blends. But you do what you feel is right for you. You said you are returning to the hobby, so I’m guessing you know the basics of it already though.
