***What Are You Smoking, May 2024?***

Some American Patriot in a cob while mowing. I love the smell of this one, but not overly impressed with the palate.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2024?***

Some Orlik Golden Slice in a Savinelli Bing's Favorite while picking up sticks from last night's storm. This little guy was just hanging out, he's probably injured.

What Are You Drinking? May 2024

Yeti Imperial Stout, paired with homemade cheesecake. I love Imperial Stouts, and this is one of my favorites.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2024?***

Storms have let up for now, so squeezing in some Elizabethan in a cob while the kids play.

What Are You Drinking? May 2024

Avery Old Jubilation. Old Ales are my favorite style of beer.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2024?***

Pennyfarthing in a Nutten's Bing. Pennyfarthing doesn't always work for me, but it is absolutely amazing this evening. Getting a really nice juicy quality with dark undertones. A magical evening with the kids in a great mood and being really silly and funny. One of those nights that makes you...

Salty Dog in a J Mouton Canadian. First time with this blend, it's nice.

What Coffee Brand do You Like?

Thanks, I'm not much for decaf, but I'll give the Dark Guatamalan Huehuetenang a try next time I place an order

What Coffee Brand do You Like?

I just discovered them, good coffee at a good price. I quite like their Tiger Nebula and Blackbeards Revenge. Do you have any recommendations? I often order from Red Bird as I love their espresso blend.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2024?***

A beautiful morning for a pipe. Having some HH Burley Flake in a Tsuge.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2024?***

Mandatory work Saturday, so I decided to treat myself to a rare commute smoke. Enjoying some G L Pease Windjammer in my very first pipe, a Stanwell featherweight. Beautiful foggy morning.

***What Are You Smoking, April 2024?***

Stairwell smoke to stay out of the wind. Some 4th Gen Evening Flake in a cob. Not sure about the Evening Flake, I am finding it a bit lacking in flavor, but not bad otherwise.

***What Are You Smoking, April 2024?***

Inaugural front porch sunset smoke of the year, some HH Burley Flake in a Heritage Heirloom. Only the second time smoking the Burley Flake, but really liking it. Best burley blend I've had so far.

Dr. Alan Harrelson Visits Chesterton’s in Steubenville, Ohio

Well, I think I kinda agree with you. I just think he is moving towards humility, not that he has achieved it (as none of us has truly) and I commend that in him. I do think that presenting yourself as a blender when you aren't is presumptuous, but I also think some of the ad hominen attacks...

Dr. Alan Harrelson Visits Chesterton’s in Steubenville, Ohio

Well, yeah I wouldn't do any of that publically, but I still think he is showing a trend towards humility I find to be a good thing. As far as Chesterton's inviting him, I think that has more to do with the Catholic angle, for better or worse.

Dr. Alan Harrelson Visits Chesterton’s in Steubenville, Ohio

Geez, I always think this is a friendly forum until this guy gets brought up. I am always surprised by how adversarial people are about his guy. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Seems like he is willing to admit his faults, willing to convert to a religion his family and...

    What are You Reading Now?

For the last several years I have read an Irish related book during the month of March. This year I was hoping to find a cultural history of Ireland, but never found what I was looking for. So I picked up Angela's Ashes and it is quite good so far. Anyone have any Irish related books I can look...

    What are You Reading Now?

I removed the dust cover (I find them annoying when reading and inevitably tear them), which is indeed a picture of Tolkien. I received this as a gift, so I am not sure where it was purchased, but I expect all available copies are the same. It is a first edition, second printing if that helps.

    What are You Reading Now?

I kinda feel this book was written exactly for someone like me: someone deeply interested in their faith, a Lord of the Rings nerd, and a former wannabe academic.
