Late Delivery on a Cold Night...

Funny, because I know of several high end cuban cigar collectors who freeze each box they purchase to kill any cigar beetles that may have nested in the tobacco. If cigars can take the cold I don't see why pipe tobacco would be completely damaged from a few hours of cold temperature...

    Christmas Blends

The John Aylesbury 2017 Winter Edition isn't too bad if you're an aromatic lover. I typically enjoy Peterson's holiday blend and will crack into some McClelland Christmas Cheer 2015.

    Black Friday

A little disappointed in the smokingpipes.com "sale". If you are an Orlik or John Cotton's fan, the P&C offer is a great deal. Thanks to everyone for sharing!

    John Aylesbury Dragon Flake

Hey Cortez! Thanks for the feedback. To me (and this is my own way of describing it) a mesmerizing room note is the lingering smoke/aroma's ability to help put your mind in a state of ease or relaxation. Almost as if you were hypnotized. Hope this helps clarify my thoughts. Cheers mate!

    Fraudulent Listings on eBay

I have purchased estates in the past from eBay but avoid it if at all possible. There are so many allegations of fraud and misrepresentation it's just not worth the risk. I prefer to support people like Steve (pipestud - he's on eBay), Marty (Culver's Briar), and Mike (briarblues) with their...

    2017 Peterson Christmas Pipes Out!

I purchased one from Smokingpipes.com last night (Peterson 106) and am awaiting its arrival. I haven't been a fan of the designs in recent years but the white swirl and dark red rustication were a winner in my book. Further, I also like the Savinelli Christmas design this year. I just might...

You Are Stranded on a Deserted Island with Only One Bulk Blend to Choose From...

My bulk choice would have to be PS Luxuary Bulleye Flake. Yum!

What Time Is Your Favorite Time to Smoke?

In late afternoon and evenings. I'm not a morning smoker. Although many people are, I just can't get into it.

Do You Still Have Your First Pipe?

Yes, I still own my first pipe. It was a basket pipe from my local B&M. 3/4 Bent smooth Italian briar. Still smokes like a champ.

How Many Tins or Jars in Your Cellar?

Wow....I don't know if this is embarrassing or celebratory (like seeing who's junk is the biggest). I have over 200 jars, around 150 unopened tins, 3 unopened 8oz bags, and about 10lbs of bulk stored away. My cigar collection is a lot larger....let's not even go there.

Sleepy Hollow Tobacco by Strauss Co

Similar to Bluegrassbrian, I visit Strauss roughly 6-7 times per year but mainly do mail order from them. Sleepy Hollow is a very enjoyable aromatic. Not overly complex but has a wonderful aroma. If you're looking for something you can smoke in public or around others who may not be pipe...

    Mold in My Storage Container

I would avoid using the bleach. As others have stated, just wipe everything down and throw away the box. Slim chance that the mold was exposed to anything else. Good luck mate!

    Distinguished Gentleman Review

Thanks for reading Bosmer. I must admit I'm a tad jealous of you. A visit to Iwan Ries is on my bucket list and I fear not to be completed in the near future. Be well friend!

Greetings Gents! I have posted a first impressions review of E. Hoffman Company's Distinguished Gentleman at: The Cedar Box Just wanted to share with the community. Cheers!

    Nicotine Overdose

Yes, smoke different blends throughout the day and give your palate/body a rest in between each bowl. Every time I get the good ole nic kick a piece of chocolate usually does the trick. Cheers mate!

    Tobacco in Jars?

Just like many others, I cram as much as possible into a single jar no matter the size. No reason to leave a ton of room. I put the lid on as tight as possible then place the jar either in my pipe cabinet or on the shelf under my stairs in the basement. That's where the magic begins!
