Pitchfork thanks that was a great read.

    Filter Adapter direction

Just push it far enough in to get the stem in the pipe. With the o ring on there it may be hard to remove down the road.

So many blends so little time. Thanks Russ for the update. There are so many older blends out there that are probably still forgotten about. I figured the CG was named after the MM pipes, until my grandfather told me what his dad smoked. I then thought it may of been like some of the other...

    Filter Adapter direction

Hard to tell not knowing the pipe it's going into. Never seen an adapter like that.

    Imaginary Basket Pipe Selection: Which?

I'd go with the one this had interesting grain. As for the country it wouldn't matter as all country's make great pipes.

Bulldog Bead Line and Rim Repair

Amazing work, how did you counter sink the inside of the rim? And I second the question about the type of glue.

Chasingembers found some on eBay by chance and pointed it out to me so I ordered one bag sealed. Can't wait to try it.

    Loose Stem

For those it's harder to expand the tenon so use a bit of beeswax or clear nail polish. I would try what pagan said first on the briars. The Meer you have to be really careful, if you do try the nail polish ensure that it is completely dry so it doesn't seize up, I would try the beeswax on it.

    Country Gentleman

I was talking with my grandfather the other night, about his dad smoking pipes. Sadly I never got to meet him, and he was the only other piper that I know of, besides a distant relative I never met. I have been wondering what pipes and tobaccos my great granddaddy smoked. My grandfather said he...

    Looking At A Lathe

As much as it weighed I thought about renting an engine lift to pick it up. I had a friend come over after work and help me muscle it up and into place to bolt down. Then I finished the table, and put the sides on to keep the table braced. Heres a photo of me next to it before I finished the...

    Looking At A Lathe

I was thinking of one that size but afraid of a few things. Not liking it after I got it (harbor freight one), out growing it, not being able to do what I want on it, etc. I took the risk and went for the larger one. I did a bit of drilling on one block so far (none briar) and it worked great. I...

    Looking At A Lathe

Well here is the lathe on the stand I built. It came in Monday and was put on the incomplete stand Friday evening. I finished up the stand Saturday and today, and now have it setting in the garage where my wood lathe sat. Will add a few more things to it (a spot to hold rods, lamp rack, etc) as...

    Restoration Shopping List

Micro mesh can be had at Hobby Lobby, and maybe other craft stores. I too would skip the beeswax cept for helping tightening stems if you go that route. I've heard mixed reviews about olive oil for stem shining. Some say it works great others say it becomes rancid. As far as waxes I can't help...

She's Trying To Steal Chasingember's Captaincy!!!

I gotta ask what's the story behind all the Black Frigate pictures and stuff.
