    Christmas 2018 Peterson's Are Here!

I'm prejudiced, of course, but all of the above are great pipes, although I favor the 106 billiard, the quintessential classic pipe. It has a decent size chamber and clenches well either with a metal spigot stem or regular. Not a P-lip, I'm afraid, nor a system, but as a fishtail, this is my...

    Christmas 2018 Peterson's Are Here!

I doubt it--it would be a lot more expensive if it were. My guess is it's copper plated nickel.

    Christmas 2018 Peterson's Are Here!

Might as well show this photo of my 106, currently in reserve at SP; I choose it because of the nice sandblast (although not as prominent as sky's). Can't wait to get it beginning of November.

    Pipe Polish?

What's a good polish for pipes? Would artist quality linseed oil be effective?

    Christmas 2018 Peterson's Are Here!

That's a relief. I want to remember this year.

    Spigots and Army Mounts

weren't these developed during WWII, when soldiers needed to pull the pipe apart and pocket them when they were called to action?

    Spigots and Army Mounts

Could someone explain how the spigot/army mount? And are they the same thing or different, and why?

    Christmas 2018 Peterson's Are Here!

Really nice blast on that one, sky. For polishing I discovered that jeweler's cloth works great. Get it from Amazon. Unfortunately, the copper will probably vanish after too much polishing. But you say there's nothing engraved on the mount? Bummer. I wanted the year to remind me this was The...

    Best Churchwardens?

Thanks for the tips, gents. I will check these out after I get the HCA (which will be awhile).

    How Many Times?

A simple question I'm embarrassed to ask after smoking so long, but how many times can you smoke a pipe in a given day before resting it? I keep several pipes next to me, and smoke each one in turn. By that caculus, i probably smoke a given pipe two or three times a day.

    Best Churchwardens?

Who would have the best selection of sandblasted churchwardens? For that matter, is there any particular marque that has a healthy variety of churches? I'm planning on getting a sandblasted black HCA, but I want to know about what is available.3

    Christmas 2018 Peterson's Are Here!

You don't have a Peterson YET? And you call yourself a pipe smoker? Just teasing, but they hole in your collection must be solved. Peterson has so many pipes, including churches, that I'm sure you can find something. Good luck!

    Christmas 2018 Peterson's Are Here!

I couldn'd resist--put a 106 on reserve at SP for purchase Oct 3. I like spigot and the copper mount with the black stem and a nice blast. Should be a nice companion to last year's 106. Will post photos when it arrives.

    Christmas 2018 Peterson's Are Here!

Just saw the new Xmas Peterson's for this year. Not as striking as last year's, but still nice: Red ruby stain on sandblasted Briar, a copper mount (unusual) and a black stem. Check 'em out.

    Pipe App

I could use an app for my Kindle Fire if it had a way of storing all my pipe photos.

    Pipe Giveaway?

Anyone who needs to clear out their aromatics need just contact me. Now, Vintage Pipes at Etsy is run by a terrific guy who sends a bunch of goodies with your order. I got an art deco pipe astray from him, and he send along 3 small packages of sample baccys, pipe cleaners, and a horseshoe nail...

    Churchwarden Pricing

I'm trying to save up to get some Hans Christian Anderson churches, but the D17 is my current churchwarden, and a great smoker. And in grey, very handsome.

    The Brotherhood Of Pipe Smoking

This original question has drifted all over the place. Anyway, while I keep a Bic for emergencies, I've discovered the Thunderbird butane insert for Zippo lighters. It allows me to enjoy the esthetics on my Zippo as well and effectively lighting the bowl. I get interesting reactions when...

    Churchwarden Pricing

Several people have asked questions about the pipes, so I snapped a few shots. Can't hurt to be sure about what they are. I rather hope the D15 doesn't sell, I'm starting to like it too much!
