    Breaking In

I have picked up your habit of wiping out the chamber with a set paper towel long ago. Given what others said below, it appears I'v never experienced a problem breaking in a new pipes--the current new 106 Irish Harp is a great smoker.

    Breaking In

Exactly what does Breaking in a pipe mean? I have a new Irish Harp I'm "breaking in"--is that meant to reduce the chamber heat, keep it from overheating?

    Savinelli's Dante

Thanks, gentlemen. I decided to appease my need for a new pipe by purchasing a sandblasted 106 Irish Harp. Hard to go wrong, arguably, with a Peterson.

What are You Watching, 2021? Rating [*/5]

I rarely rent streaming, but did so yesterday night, Godzilla v Kong. Lots of fun! But have always been a Godzilla fan and saw the first G v K as a boy in a theater.

    Savinelli's Dante

The stem does seem to lack some streamling, but what do I know? I've never had an author like this. Think I tried one years ago though.

    Savinelli's Dante

that's funny, I found it quick. Just type "dante" in the search box.

    Savinelli's Dante

Has anyone had any thoughts or experience with Savinelli's new Dante pipe? I'm intrigued by it--the portrait of Dante is a nice touch--but I'm wary of trying an expensive Author pipe.

    Famous Pipe Smokers’ Collection

Does anyone know what would make a good cleaning solvent for scrubbing off carbonation on a oil type lighter.?

    Erin Go Bragh Pipes

With this month's Pipes and Cigars catalog, on the cover I immediately was struck by the Galway pipe, priced decently at $85. But I'm not familiar with this marque--anyone have any thoughts about Erin Go Bragh pipes?

    Recent Acquisitions

The fishtale was made especially for this pipe: I still have the flip separate. So I cheated on the stem.

    Recent Acquisitions

I just had to show of these new pipes I acquired over the past three months. The top pipe is a Nording Rusticated Freehand, of course, showing off the master's skill. The second pipe from Peterson's is a SMOOTH x501 Dracula which I had been searching for for nearly a year and finally found at...

    Charcoal Filter Bags

Has anyone run into these new charcoal filter bags that supposedly clean the air of musty odors? One brand goes by the name of NatureFresh, and is made from banana tree ashes. Do they work? More importantly, do they lessen pipe tobacco smoke?

    Dunhill Really Special?

I don't Recall that, might hade been sold when i was low in cash.

    Dunhill Really Special?

I tend to support your position. It's like a collection isn't complete without at least one Dunhill. I have always been on the lookout of a straight, classic shell briar Dunhill, with a standard stem (no saddling), with exceptional sandblasting that we associate with Dunhill. But these types...

    Saves are great pipes too.

    Dunhill Really Special?

I've been very happy with my Petersons (despite the inexplicable protractors, they are really fine pipes) and an occasional Nording, and others. So what makes Dunhill so special beyond aesthetics? I wouldn't mind owning one, but I'm not prepared to spend a month's earnings for what might be...
