    Hello from papparalph

My Step dad is called pap by his grand kids and he is in Bedford, PA. Is this really common in that region?

    Lady from California

I have found Boswell aromatics to fit that description. Christmas Cookie is particularly good. Sutliff vanilla custard is another notable. And there is the much loved Lane limited 1Q.

TP has 2019 C&D Small Batch Sansepolcro

Yeah, I picked up 3. I'm surprised they were not more restrictive on tin limits.

Blends I Stockpile & Are (Mostly) Available

I'm interested in a Dunhill Flake replacement, my jar is nearly gone. Cellar is getting pretty fat lately. Anniversary Kake has required a lot of dry time for me too, but we'll worth the wait. I just got a big bag of it.

    The Pipe Cleaner Test

I use pipe cleaners mid smoke much of the time. I will trash a pipe that can't pass one, unless it might be valuable to someone else. I had to significantly file a Caminetto I bought on this forum to make it pass one, but I'm quite fond of it now. Like Phila said, it is not that hard to get...

New Proposed Bill Seeks to Eliminate Online Tobacco Sales

    McClelland Tobacco Still Going Up

Sales is a job, as is tobacco prospecting. For me this is my hobby and escape, and I make enough money at my job. I have some mcc tins I intend to smoke I payed retail for. It is nice to see our hobby has such value to people. If I very decide to exit the hobby, I'm glad there is a market...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (April 2019)

Dunhil flake in a Wiley feather bent Dublin.

Classic shape bulldog, on a reasonable price

I love my Ropp superior Bulldog. I'm sure you would be safe with the Peterson though.

    The Perfect Compromise Blend?

Gawith and Hogarth blends, if you like trips to the lake.

In Case You Lose a $2000 Lighter

I mostly use bics and matches but hate how wasteful bics are. Looking into getting a suitable replacement. I have a collection of Zippos that were great for cigarettes but I find the pip insert lousy for flame control.

    Good RYO Leaf

Tabac Manil: Le Petit Robin is hands down the best I have tried for those purposes. Peter Stokkebye Norwegian is good as well. I've heard Gawith and Hoggarth Kendal Gold but have not tried that yet. Daughters and Ryan are also alleged to have several good RYO options.

    Burley Boogie

My cart is now full of Burley blends, thanks for the suggestions! I love the way this hobby drags you down different paths.

What Pipe tops Your PAD List Right Now?

I have a Dave Neeb long shanked Dublin being commissioned, super excited!

    Flake For The Long Smoke

I too prefer flake tobacco, usually cube cut. I've been easily dismantling my only tin of Dunhill Flake. Wishing I tried to cellar that one, but there are plenty of other good ones for me to try. GH flakes are among my favorite blends, suddenly scarce as they may be. Wishing the Lakeland hate...

    Burley Boogie

I just picked up Pegasus, but need to add HH and Three Friars.

    Burley Boogie

I have a burgeoning love affair with Burley as of late. If y'all could chime in on your Burley favorites as if late I would appreciate it. Tobac Manil has been getting most of my attention lately.

    Customer Service

I have had equally good experiences with them and spend far too much money there.

    The Psychology of Brands

I think it is dependent on how pervious the smoker is to marketing. I imagine the smoker's world view has an impact on how they receive the symbols thrown at them. I find the pipe smoking community's impression of blends and brands has a larger impact on blend enjoyment vs brand of pipe...
