    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

You obviously do know. I in fact know that you know what we are going on about and I have no issue publicly debating it with you considering that I know that I am correct.

Worse it nutmeg. It's like the fentanyl of spices...

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

One thing I wish someone would of gently corrected me about over the years is my usage of "should of, could of, would of" I have no f'ing clue where I picked that up and still catch myself writing it at times. The shame is real...

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

I think I admitted that to some degree. Right or wrong... I try not to correct people these days if it's not somehow necessary or if I think it might really help the person. Even if you are right half the time people just correct others because their life feels out of control, or something...

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

Sounds like the sort of situation that should be enjoyed, or not- over a bowl from a large ugly skull pipe.

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

Yea... all sound observations etc. I don't really see a point most the time these days to argue about most anything with anyone. What's the point? When's the last time you've been in an argument and either party had some big revelation through the argument and changed their opinion. The only...

The inclusion of cinnamon and allspice sounds interesting, I'll try that. I like those "dark" tasting spices in savory dishes. They sort of make me pause to consider what I'm tasting.

I guess the key is also what you use the frozen beans for. I often make string bean salads and like them slightly undercooked for that but also make a sort of Persian "stewed" string bean dish is pretty much like string beans in a tomato sauce and for that I like them almost falling apart so...

Oh yes. I like them roasted. I made something the other day that was fantastic. I blanched the beans and then sautéed them in butter that was about to brown with some sage and then carpet bombed them with parmesan on the plate. Anyways... thanks for those suggestions. I just never saw any bags...

My beans did fantastic this year but that's no surprise but I have a question. So... I am growing cowpeas (blackeye peas), this sort of mottled Italian beans and a typical looking green pole bean. The first two I plan on shelling and drying whatever is on the vine at this point but does anyone...

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

Do you know any people who consistently correct you incorrectly then when you try to argue with them correctly over whatever it is they say something like "I forgot you know everything" which adds to the frustration because you were the one that they felt a need to correct... it's rather...

    Rice

I think puttanesca is probably my absolute favorite pasta sauce and if you serve it to people who don't like anchovies I doubt they would even know they are in it.

Same here. I cook from scratch maybe five nights a week and use a cutting board as well. I was just mentioning it as these women are highly skilled cooks and use so little gear. The people I know with the most decked out kitchens seem to do the least amount of cooking, or not very well. I do...

    Rice

iIm pretty happy about cooking with a pretty minimal set-up. my "spouse" gave me a Japanese carbon steel knife a few years ago and I barely use it. Although, a rice cooker is one of the few items I contemplate. Every watch Pasta Grannies on YouTube? These Italian grandma's make amazing food with...

Oh, is larb that sort of salad with a lime dressing and ground pork or chicken?

    Rice

Actually it's my "spouse" who is more opposed to kitchen gadgets. I bought a food mill last year and that was a "whole conversation". I don't have the energy to breech a subject as controversial with her as a rice cooker...

    Rice

I forgot to mention "broken rice" which I love. One of those many peasant items which turn out to be delicious. In Vietnam is is almost always served with BBQ meat and the Turks like to use it as a side that sort of resembled boiled bulger or couscous. It's basically the bits of rice which...

    Rice

Well I don't doubt you rice maestro but that basically sounds like what I knew as "Spanish rice" which I think is actually more of a creole thing than Spanish thing.
  19. puff_not_snuff

    Rice

Wh How is brown rice a "lie"? It is rice with the hull still attached and has more nutrients and fiber than white rice. I can't say I desirer brown rice but I wish I did and do enjoy the chewiness but my issue is that it's not good at soaking up sauces etc., like white rice.
  20. puff_not_snuff

    Rice

Oh ok, I grew up calling that "Spanish rice". Apparently for Asin fried rice, day old rice won't allow the grains to absorb too much of the oil. I make these sorts of lazy man pilafs when I'm cooking- I'll throw in a dollop of tomato paste, some herbs stock or whatever when I boil my rice and...
