    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

Hey @JOHN72 after some digging I found some of my forum "work" from around 2007. Would you be so kind to give me an appraisement as I might again devote my life to pissing off. Friends, I would like to come clean with my impromptu for joining an English language forum as it has to do with...

    What are You Reading Now?

Well, I'm going to have to revisit Crime & Punishment at some point but I might actually read a different translation after I finish this one as it's not what I've read online as being one of the better translations. Might you have a recommendation in that regard? And... what are your favorite...

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

Yes, but lets also consider his talk about being psychology abused by the translator- that statement in itself and likely untainted by the translate, adds a lot to his post. It was relevant yet completely irrelevant and the sort of deep soul admission which add a bit of his deranged Spanish...

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

Yes... but, I don't think that Google translate in the hands of another would result in such spectacular consistently bizarre yet relatable results. John has turned the translator into an artform and often I find that his posts speak profound truths to me sometimes telling me to do things which...

    Martial Arts

You didn't happen to take Wing Chun in Fort Greene, Brooklyn? A lot of helpful replies here- thanks gents. I need to read over them when I get home. Cheers!

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

John, let me tell you I've spent a lot of time on other forums trying to sound like you (before I even knew you) and let me tell you while entertaining at times it never came close to touch the genius of your posts.

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

I use to have this eBay customer in Germany many moons ago named Knut. The postal clerk at the time was a rather funny fellow with some edge and he'd always say real loud something like "oh, another package for that Knut!" I would chuckle but the othe people behind me were more annoyed about all...

    Martial Arts

Anyone here practice a martial art? I'm considering taking up kung-fu as a school is by me with a master who is in his 70s and the price is reasonable. Is it normal to have one general class with both the beginner and advanced students? This is how they operate and I am wondering how a beginner...

A more plausible defense is if he said he's British.

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

I'm pretty sure this thread has degraded my already declining grammar. Now I feel like I don't know nothing or that what I did know ain't correct but it also just might be inverted psychological.

    What are You Reading Now?

I started The Idiot recently. Haven't read Dostoevsky since I was a teen and for some reason I didn't remember his books being so easy to read. I thought they were a bit more "difficult". Before that I had been reading Celine's Journey to the End of the Night for like 2 years. Love the prose but...

    Rice

Yea I know what you mean. I think with Italian cooking the fact that a lot of the dishes don't really have many ingredients it's very important to use the best ones possible even when it comes down to the anchovies.

    Rice

Apparently Ben Franklin was so impressed with it he smuggled some plants out of Italy.

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

Thanks for the clarification, I was a bit flummoxed and while I was looking at a map earlier and saw the little link link to the ocean I did wonder that... Is that some new development? I did read quickly earlier that is apparently one of the oldest lakes on earth. Anyways, political climate...

    People Who Correct You Incorrectly

Not that you need it but I read a tip on this particular thing. If confused if you remove the "you" and try "me" or "I" the correct answer will be obvious. Re: "the sun is shining on I" vs "the sun is shining on me" and as you can easily deduct the first one is obviously the correct usage. More...

I disagree with you both and will have no trouble with disposing of the tepid arguments of two. In fact I will do so while only using one hand to type.
