    Meerschaum Tenon Repair

I think it is quite possibly amber. The tenon definitely feels and looks like bone. I don’t plan on sending it off. My goal is to do my own restoration work. That’s part of the fun of this adventure. I’ve restored other Meers, usually those tenons were broke. So I had to cut them out and slowly...

    Basket Pipe Restoration

Not sure, I think I’m going to pass on this one and sell it locally. Handling it feels nice, and the drought hole is placed well.

    Basket Pipe Restoration

No I’ve been restoring for a few years. Due to surgeries and my garage getting piled up. I had to stop. Hands are still giving me issues here and there. I’ve had three surgeries on just my hands, and four elsewhere. Had a shed fall into my hands so I been slowly getting everything moved to it...

    Meerschaum Tenon Repair

This is a difficult task. I’m trying to repair this shank. It is threaded and the threads are destroyed. The bone tenon doesn’t want to come out of the stem. Tempted to try ultra sonic bath but afraid to try, as I don’t want to run the stem. I have tried cigar ash pipe mud but I must of not let...

Pipe stem loose after every smoke

Yes, if you don’t properly heat the tenon up. The ones I use have a very small angle on them. I have yet to ever see a split tenon. All of the repairs I have made were tenons broken off in the shanks, or tenons too loose.

Pipe stem loose after every smoke

One great tool I use is a stem tightening set. Heating up the tenon alone didn’t do that much for me. I would heat them up push them against the work table and let them cool so they didn’t put extra pressure on the shank. Good luck.

What to do with New Old Pipe

If you do ream it yourself. Wrap something around the bowl to keep even pressure from the outside. As said before go slow and don’t use a reamer that chips or is aggressive. I too suggest to send it out if your unsure. Good luck and keep it classy.

    Books For Pipers

This one is a great read. This one is pretty good, but didn’t grab my attention like the other. There are a few others out there, sorry I’m not home to grab them. The NASPC also does a magazine that has some good articles in it If you are also looking for some shorter reads.

Any Advice is Appreciated on How to Care and Clean My New Ser Jacopo Dalla Gemma

Nice pipe, I’d smoke it more also. As far as cleaning nothing more than the usual. Bit of alcohol on a pipe cleaner and run it through the stem. Wipe out the bowl, use a bit of stem oil on the stem and avoid getting it on the diamond. Good luck!

Would love to go this year but not gonna be able too. Hopefully I see y’all next year at it and I have some pipes made for the show. Last one I went too has been a while but it was amazing. My wife even enjoyed seeing how friendly the piping community is.
