Plateau Spot On A Bowl - Thoughts?

Speaking of aesthetic, the pipe to the right was judged by someone for being flawed the way I left the center in between the bowl and shank. I however liked the way the wood was rippled between the plateaux and gave it a unique look other than chopping it out. So to each his own. I would...

Plateau Spot On A Bowl - Thoughts?

After looking at the other pics in the link I can see there would be plenty of meat at the bottom of the bowl. The over all shape and Cumberland stem make that one sexy pipe. I will admit that I like the way the plateau on the one embers posted more, however I like the shape of the one your...

Plateau Spot On A Bowl - Thoughts?

I agree with the Birdseye looking really nice. I was imagining more burl edge than that, before I got to the pic. Adding to what big pond said it is a neat idea from the carver showing that it is from the edge. I also agree with cosmic about the thickness, however a lot of my older pipes are...

    Home Pruducts To Wax Briar.

Woods I've got both of those and both work great. I can't really tell the difference between them. As far as the OP question I wouldn't use blistex, if you have a hobby lobby or micheals you could pick up a pound block of beeswax for about 10 with the coupon. As far as anything else you may...

    Anybody here got a Lorenzo?

Pagan I'm digging that picture. I have one Lorenzo Spitfire, the stem isn't original. I made to make a new one for it. The few times I've smoked it were good. If I saw another in a antique store I'd buy if the right price. Old post

    Country Gentleman

If anyone else does decide to ever try this I recommend the packages that are clean on the outside. There is no plastic to protect the tobacco on the inside if anything is spilled on them.

    Country Gentleman

Well the package arrive today. I took a few photos of it as I opened it. Sadly it is a bit dried out due to the tobacco is just in a cloth bag. I dumped it all and started rehydration of it, and smoked a bowl of some that was slightly hydrated. My taste are not as refined as others, however it...
