Does Your Region Have A Particular Delicacy Or Meal Associated With It?

Interestingly enough I always thought Southern Italian peasant food and Soul Food had a lot in common. I too, growing up in an immigrant family in CT, feasted on greens, pigs feet, head cheese and the like. My siblings and I literally fought over brains. We lightly fried ours in olive oil with...

    Hello from the Scottish Borders

Welcome from Milford, CT and my condolences on the passing of your father.

    Infused

Totally worth a try for a change of pace. But DO get the more highly regarded brands. As previously mentioned the Drew Estates and Nubs are great smokers. And I'll suggest a brand called Baccarat also. Classic old Connecticut wrapper cigar with a sweetened tip. They won't cost you a fortune and...

Lane TK-6 vs. Cult Blood Red Moon

That was my experience too. Lousy grossly wet hot burning goop. Stuff that smelled great in the bag smoked liked battery acid. But after a long layoff from smoking pipes altogether, I went ahead and started experimenting with aromatics again. The Cults have all been good. And the W.O. Larsen...

    Kentucky Bourbons

Elijah Craig is really good. Nothing like the Woodford Reserve though. Woodford is really smooth for a bourbon, to me it drinks like an Irish or Canadian whisky. The Craig however struck me as much more complex, subtle smokiness after an initial pow like punch to the kisser. Craig is like a...

Lane TK-6 vs. Cult Blood Red Moon

I'd Give the Cherry Bonbon a try if it were anything at all like BRM, but I can't find it on any of the sites. BRM is the only cherry tobacco that I've really liked because of it's easy burn and pronounced flavor without bite.

***What Are You Smoking, July 2020?***

Haunted Bookshop and ST. Bruno Flake yesterday. Thinking more of the same today.

What are You Drinking? (June, 2020)

Trying to lose some of my Covid-19 weight gain. So, lots of tea, coffee and for my nightcap.... I'm taking the plunge into spiked seltzers as a low cal alternative to my usual Vodka and whisky.

    How Do You Cut Yours?

Punch or perfect cutter, depending on the variables one would consider like shape and such.

    Prince Albert

I have a big tub of PA and find that the OP is largely right---bland as hell. I approach Prince Albert as if it were the Tofu of pipe tobaccos. It has very little flavor or character, but burns great. So yeah, I blend it. Why? Because there are several tobaccos I have liked that have great...

    Any Good Summer Blend Recommendations?

C&D Three Friars, Cult Profile, W.O. Larsen Signature Vintage or any light English. Presbyterian is a favorite summer smoke for me. If you can find it, try some Samuel Gawith Golden Glow.

    Microwaving Tobacco

Living a few blocks from Long Island Sound in the seemingly forever damp North East, I do find myself having to nuke tobacco from time to time. No more than 10 seconds. Don't notice any discernible difference in flavor. Helps out in a pinch.

    Hello from Brooklyn...

Welcome from Milford, Connecticut. Sorry I can't help you on your quest. Recently tired Blood Red Moon though, and by far that has been the best cherry blend I've had. And it also tastes much like it smells out of the tin. A pronounced cherry flavor with a rich chocolate cream smoothness...

Which Are Your Favorite Coffee Blends

Just cracked open the bag I bought I month ago on your recommendation. This stuff is great. Will most definitely buy this again. A nice semi sweet dark chocolate flavor to compliment the smokiness of the roast. Really enjoying this. Thanks again.

Quentin Tarantino Somewhat Redeemed, In My View

Ya kidding me. Basterds was a gas. Love that one too. Who doesn't like that one? There's only 3 I don't ever need to see again, and only because he'd lost the touch for authentic dialogue in them and those 3 are both Kill Bills and Jackie Brown.

Quentin Tarantino Somewhat Redeemed, In My View

I more or less love most of his movies. Still think Pulp Fiction is great. But Hollywood was actually a feel good manson movie and I loved it. Now go watch 1917 for an entirely different experience. Loved that one maybe even more.

    GBD pipes

I have that middle one. Good looking pipe and decent smoker. I have a couple more GBD pipes. My favorite is the prehistoric rusticated poker.

Fun Movies While Practicing Social Distancing

I really liked both of those movies. They couldn't be more different, but they're both great. 1917 is just amazing to watch... because of the cinematography. Never seen anything like it. Story is great too. Hollywood is just fun!!
