    Ashton Pipes Question

I got into Ashton pipes a few years ago. Just my own observations, mind you, but Bill Taylor made some really good pipes! With Jimmy Craig, it was a bit more of a crap shoot. Some were great, but I would occasionally find some that were not, almost like they were rushed to market. I've had some...

Help Verify Sasieni One Dot Fish Tail Logo

The early, patent pipes did not have stepped tenons. They were made for the stinger. I do, however, have a couple of later family era Sasieni pipes with stepped tenons, one is a Cambridge, one is a Warwick I got from Pipestud. Here is a Victoria (shape 71) I have. The shape number definitely...

    My New Water Flush Finish.

I've never commented on any of these water flush posts, but I cant help thinking that carvers spend years curing Briar blocks to get the moisture OUT of the wood, why the Hell would I intentionally apply water TO it???

Help Verify Sasieni One Dot Fish Tail Logo

That doesn't look like a Sasieni stem to me. The logo seems legit. I'm pretty sure Sasieni didn't sandblast then. Could be a good copy of the logo. I have seen some counterfeit Sasieni pipes. Sorry, Im.just not positive on this one.

To Rest or Not to Rest

I generally rest a pipe as many days as bowls smoked in it in a day. If I only smoke it once, I'll rest it for a day before smoking it again. If I smoke 2 bowls in a pipe in one day, Ill rest it 2 days. I don't know that it will preserve the pipe or make it last longer, but I have enough pipes...
