    Any Advice on Quitting Cigarettes?

Update to my response post from a year ago on May 6. I had been wanting to quit the cigs. This past Feb I got really sick with an upper respatory cold. My lungs were filled with congestion and I tore a inter-coastal muscle, they are the muscles between your ribs. It feels just like a broken...

    Thoughts on a Second Pipe

This might float your boat ... a MM Mark Twain, because they tend to have ticker walls. Get the "bent" version and combine it with a vulcanite Churchwarden Forever Stem. IMO it's going to be difficult to find a quality pipe for under $50 outside of MM cobs. Secondhand estate pipes notwithstanding.

    Need Some Advice, Please!

Time is your friend here. You will find out that many of the tins you bought weren't as good as you might have anticipated, and slowly but surely figure out that it's just not worth the cost to continue down that rabbit hole. It might take several years, but eventually you will find a few...

    Onward And Upward

I'm doing ok, but thanks for asking. Turns out living off the grid and off the land in a remote area was easy compared to living in a city with society, bills, obligations and all that goes along with a "normal" life, but I'm enjoying being closer to my children, and that's important to me...

    Air Purifiers Tested

Nice work! Thanks for sharing this. I still like my ventilation fans, as they don't require purifying the room air after use. Smoking Room Ventilation :: General Pipe Smoking Discussion - https://pipesmagazine.com/forums/threads/smoking-room-ventilation.90255/

Is It Hotter Where You Live Now?

What is your source for the information and figures you quote? There are hundreds of weather stations all over the place in big cities, and thousands more outside big cities, not just at the airports. Temps in question are an average across the globe, and gathered by weather and earth...

Is It Hotter Where You Live Now?

I don't know where you get your info, but your flat out wrong. Climate change (global warming) is a fact, not a conspiracy theory. I have a degree in Geology, which for those that don't know, is the study of the Earth, not rocks. There are several Geologist and Geophysicist on here that can...

Is It Hotter Where You Live Now?

Absolutely it's hotter! I grew up in Houston. Back in the 60's - 90's a hot summer day was in the high 90's. Now it's week after week of 103-107. I live in Bryan now which is only 1.5 hours north of Houston. We had a month of temps between 100-105 in July and a month of temps between 105-110...

    Example of "Invisible Repair"

George, do you use the spiny things on just the blasted or rusticated rims? You wouldn't use this to remove hard carbon on a smooth rim would you... or would you? I was going to make one of those scrapers you fashioned from a putty knife blade as described in one of your other videos

Sealed Tins, Jars, and High Altitudes

I moved a bunch of tins from 300' in Texas to 8000' in New Mexico several years ago. Normal vacuum sealed tins will do fine. The only issues should be if you have tins that are already puffed up from ageing, like some GLP tins do. If they are already puffed up at 300' and you go to 8000' they...
