    Tenon Came Out of Bit

I don't know what the pros use, but I first put grooves on the tenon with a dremel tool and use a two part epoxy to secure the tenon into the stem.

“Black Friday” Becomes More of an Abomination Every Year

Today was my first ever indugence in Black Friday Shopping. My cordless drill just puked and Home Depot had a sweat deal on a pair of Milwaukee tools, one driver and one impact driver. Today should be my only time. Everything was orderly at the straight mans botique, I was in and out in 5 minutes.

Just went to Paul's Pipe Shop

Posts about Pauls Pipe Shop remind me of the 52 yrs. I lived in the Flint area. Pauls is a nice place to live near, the rest of Flint, not so much.

What Do You Smoke in the Morning?

Gawith Hoggarth Brown Irish X, OK I'm kidding. My first smoke is usually in the early afternoon, and I enjoy GLP Westminster or Low Country Black from Smoking Pipes.

99% Isopropyl Alcohol for Meerschaums ?

Do not use alcohol on any part of a meerschaum. It will discolor the meerschaum. One of our members posted pictures of a meer he cleaned with alcolol, after smoking it was a purple black.

    Aging Aromatics...Yay or Nay?

When I first started pipe smoking in Dec. 12 I bought two pounds of bulk aro from 4Noggins. I still have most of this order in jars because I rarely smoke aro's now. I hope they improve but I have no idea what to expect when I open them.

Why Does SmokingPipes Take so Long in Transit?

I have ordered from both, 4Noggins arives in 3 days, my last order for Smoking Pipes took 10 days, it was placed on Friday and shiped on Tuesday. I live in Idaho. I also get my orders from Pipes and Cigars quickly, plus they run great monthly specials.

    First Snow of 2013

I think our first snow was two or three months ago. I've already used over one cord of firewood here in the Teton Valley. I lived in southern Colorado before here and there was never a shortage of snow in Pagosa Springs. I remember Santa Fe used to get hit fairly hard as well. I happen to love...

    Latakia Suggestions?

I've tried and enjoyed PS Proper English, and English Oriental. I recommend the Proper English out of these two. I noticed his post as well, and I plan to head his advice my ownself.

    Pipes That Take Long Rests

I have three large, heavy pipes, that tend to sit for 30 days or more between uses. I like them, and get a two hour or even longer smoke from these pipes. However I'm a clencher, and at around 3 ounces they are better suited to smoking while seated so they can be held. I have thought of selling...

    Sadness In The Household

Werdna I'm sorry to hear of your loss and pain. I lost my best friend Mick earlier this year, and while I have a new dog the pain from losing Mick is still fresh. Don't rush getting another dog, wait until you are ready. My thought will be for you and your wife during this difficult time.

    Getting Old

A few years ago I was talking with my mom, I was complaining about body parts that just didn't seem to be as good as they used to be. At 86 she listened to me whine without interrupting, when I finished she just looked me in the eye and said "It isn't going to get any better." I realized I'd...

Help! Is It a Real I. Baglan Pipe?

Looks to fragile for my tastes. That long shank could break very easily. My two pennies goes toward a couple (or more) nice briars. There are plenty of very good meerschaums out there for that price as well.
