Protecting Bowl From Charring
I usually use a zippo with a pipe lighter insert, and have never charred a rim that way. Tonight I chose to use a butane soft flame lighter, and charred the rim. Oh well... pipes are meant to be used. Battle scars. No worries.- smokeyweb

I think moldy tins are probably pretty rare. Maybe one out of 1000 tins has mold... possibly from being improperly stored... somebody posts a picture of that one moldy tin... and then we all freak out worrying about our cellars!- smokeyweb
