    Filters

Filterless pipes will usually not take a filter. The filters are placed in the shank or stem and it must be drilled out in order to do so. So by design, if there's no space for a filter, it ain't goin' in. There are several types of filters... most common are the 9mm and 6mm filters. They are...

    New Morning Routine

I find lots of ODF blends go very well with coffee. Dark Strong or ODF being pretty great morning kicks. I do like breakfast first though. Nothing like a nice moldy virgina first thing in the morning.

***What Are You Smoking, July 2021?***

Good morning all, starting the day with some Bob's Chocolate in a Punto Oro Savinelli 413 KS. and a cup of freshly ground medium roast Kenyan coffee.

    Airport Security

See the Canadian customs site for tobacco - They are pretty clear. You can bring 5 'units' of tobacco into the country exempt from taxes or duty fees. One unit is 200g of 'manufactured tobacco'. I've inadvertently snuck it in before as I had 5 bags of 250g of germains/G&H from the uk all in my...

Gawith & Hoggarth Dark Flake Scented Review

The dark fired Virginia's from Malawi and India are some of what make G&H stuff so unique and interesting. I love that quality in Dark Plug too, where it's more intense.

About to tuck into some Salty Dogs in this little Road Town panelled billiard, after enjoying a nice meal of fried mackerel and mango/papaya salad.

Why do You Smoke a Pipe?

It's largely the relaxation and preference. I prefer a pipe over a cigar (though I enjoy them occasionally). I also prefer the sheer variety and experience of pipe tobacco to any other form of tobacco consumption.

Gawith & Hoggarth Dark Flake Scented Review

Nice review Karam - I used to smoke this quite a bit back in the UK. IMHO nicer smoked as it comes (a little damp, as you did) than when dried out, where I find it loses a bit of dimension. There are a few G&H blends that are rich with the scent of geranium. Will have to add it (again) to the...

Warhorse Green Reverts to Cake Status!

I ordered some recently and this is what my 'chug' looks like. Great stuff, could also be used as an air freshener. For more 'like this' I'm not sure - but I'd recommend any G&H plug (those aren't really 'like this though') I got 5 cans of each Green and Bar.

Looking for a Cheap but High Quality Pipe

You should contact Brigham, they have excellent customer service - usually will happily either fix or completely replace the pipe (I've read good experiences of others).

***What Are You Smoking, July 2021?***

I find it to be quite similar in function to the Savinelli balsa filters (in the reduction of moisture). They are veyr effective at reducing shank moisture. Useful when the weather is particularly humid (which happens a lot up here in Montréal). But some prefer to smoke their Brigham's...

    Tobacco for New Smokers

This question comes up all the time eh? I'll link to another thread on here where I made a list... (which I might change or edit if I were to post it today). Essentially, try to identify the genres of tobacco that exist and work your way through tasting all of them. Then hone.

    How Often Do You Smoke?

Any of us who post in the monthly 'what are you smoking' thread know this to be true. I can't keep up with that kind of speed. For me, it really varies (depends upon what I'm doing). I'll probably smoke 3 or 4 bowls maximum on a very free day. Most of the time just one or two bowls. Sometimes I...
