Good day all! Started with C&D Bayou Morning in an Upshall P smooth Bulldog with hex shank and saddle stem. Then went straight to St. Bruno RR in a dedicated Tilshead. From the first bowl, days without a bowl of SBRR are only because circumstances have conspired against me - it's the only blend that's always "on deck" (makes me glad that Condor isn't readily available on our side of the pond or most likely I'd be a junkie).

I just got a Brigham and I really like it. Thoughts on the brand, and the maple "distillator?"
I find it to be quite similar in function to the Savinelli balsa filters (in the reduction of moisture). They are veyr effective at reducing shank moisture. Useful when the weather is particularly humid (which happens a lot up here in Montréal).

But some prefer to smoke their Brigham's sans-filter to open up the draw.

This being said, I only own one Brigham, so I'm still kind of trialling the whole maple filter. You wipe and can 'soak' the filters in a cup of hot water to clean them out and freshen them up (then dry them on the windowsill).

That being said, I'll be taking it out today again with some Rattray's Marlin Flake for a walk. It smokes very well - will probably purchase more Brigham's in the future.

Gotcha. They are definitely on my early short list for affordable pipes.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of Motzek (TAK) Virginia Cake in an undated straight black sandblasted Kevin Arthur brandy with a multi-colored accent on the white acrylic saddle stem. This pipe was originally owned by Sante “FishnBanjo” Giuliani. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
