How To Post A Photo In A PM?

Now that I am retired, I no longer have time to futz with desktops and laptops. I am on my third tablet, a 2019 basic iPod, and $300 or $400 every few years to get a new one to read stuff on the web is a heck of a lot less than I spent on the inevitable, endless and frequent upgrades that as...

    Fancy a Shag?

Try not puffing very much, or hard, hold the lighter or match away from the top of the bowl a little, and roast the tobacco like a cigar. moving the flame around in a clockwise (or counterclockwise) direction. With a little patience and practice, you can get a very even light for anything...

    Fancy a Shag?

This. Most people pack too tight. Packed right, you really don’t need to do so much as sip, the tobacco smokes itself. I firmly believe they smoke better NOT broken up.

    Warning Regarding Mylar Bag Storage

That is about when I started. Prompted by people I met a shows like Indiana Briar Friars who were already doing it. Blends were already changing/disappearing. It didn’t take a genius to listen and learn. There are several ways to keep tobacco in smokeable condition. It will change over time...

Too Many Blends, But Too Few Producers?

This. In one of their corporate promotional pieces on the web, STG stated that two thirds of all leaf used in pipe tobacoo worldwide came from three leaf processors. These companies contract with growers. Their principal business is supplying tobacco for cigarette companies at the lowest...

    20% Off at JRCigars

My experience (considerable, particularly if you incidental the dozens of tins of McClelland I bought over about 18 months using a seemingly evergreen coupon code from Cigar Dojo for 15 or 20% off which you could every now and then stack with another promo such as free shipping) is that if they...

Getting Consistently Good Experiences With FVF

FVF and SJF are walks in the park prep wise compared to Dark Star. I used to use a blade coffee grinder for that and 2035. Never felt the need to go that far with any SG or GH flake.

Getting Consistently Good Experiences With FVF

I rub out all flakes, never had a problem with FVF. Cube cutting might work for some, but I’ve never felt it was worth the trouble.

GLP Triple Play vs Savinelli Doblone d’Oro

The “coins” significantly disintegrate over time. I have always rubbed out MacBarens spun cut blends anyway and mix them up. Never had an inconsistency issue, which @jiminks noted in his review of their Latakia Rolls. I’m not wild about that blend, but not for that reason. I try to smoke the...

    Alcohol Treatment

This. The salt alcohol treatment is very benign. On rare occasions I have had to do it as many as three times. I don’t advise the alcohol retort treatment unless you are very sure you can do It safely. I have done it with no issues, but always with some trepidation, since I am a klutz.
