    One of my Best Smokers

Funny how some pipes just "have it" right from the get-go. I feel that way about a couple of little Ropp pipes I have (super cheap) from their vintage series. C.Rorrer

    1911-1912 Peterson Patent Calabash

I'm curious - who does your restoration work, if you don't mind me asking? C.Rorrer

    Not New, But Refurbished

Refurbishment is good! Welcome from Lockhart, Texas.

Do You Prefer to Buy Unsmoked or Pre-Smoked Pipes?

I prefer new/unsmoked pipes, but am a sucker for some of the older shapes that aren't seen too often in modern pipes. Some of the proportions of older pipes just click for me (especially smaller pipes), and those are the ones I go for. C.Rorrer

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Have been wracked with springtime allergies the past couple of days. Hard to enjoy a smoke when you can't breathe! Better today, and getting ready to fire up some Plum Pudding in an Amber Root Dunhill 3108 bent Rhodesian ... one of my favorite pipes that I own. Cheers to all and apologies for...

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Long day. Happy friday to all. Spring is starting to show its face here, the tiniest buds on our mulberry and fig trees. Getting ready to go all Vladimir Putin on our local squirrels (or, as I like to more accurately call them, "tree rats") that have been molesting my wife's seedlings. Smoking...

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Wow. Just look at that bad boy. There aren't a lot of pipes (vintage or new) that I lust after these days, but that's a beaut! Enjoy!! As the old folks say, they don't make 'em like that anymore. C.Rorrer

And honestly ... is it ever as good as the memory? :-) C.Rorrer

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

The memory ain't what it used to be. I need all the help I can get. :) I do, though, recall ordering from Boswell quite a bit in the mid-90s and Northwoods was one of my faves. Great to know they're still alive and well. For an aromatic, I recall enjoying Bear Blend a lot, too. Time to place...

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Enjoying a bit of Plum Pudding in a wonderful old WDC Belge, one of the prettiest pipes I have. I know WDCs don't tend to be all that highly regarded by a lot of folks, but they were firing on all cylinders when they made this one. C.Rorrer ** Note to self ... start taking pictures. Where'd I...

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

OK, you've kindled a memory there. I haven't had that blend in a LONG time, but used to enjoy it very frequently. Where'd I put that credit card again? ;-) C.Rorrer

Smoking a quick bowl of GL Pease Westminster in a Ropp Canadian before I have to mow the lawn. Just another day in paradise. :) C.Rorrer

Pipe(s) That You Will Never Smoke...

I'd had these for a long time, so it worked out well. I was letting go of both of those pipes because I just hadn't been smoking them much, and they are such beautiful vintage pieces that I decided they'd probably be better in the hands of a collector (which I am not). I do have a couple of...

    Let’s Talk Aromatics

Haven't thought about aromatics in a long while, but I've recently rediscovered some old McClelland's Master Penman and Penman's Choice tins languishing around in my tobacco closet. Think I'm going to pop one open tomorrow and see what I can see. I used to enjoy those quite a bit, but it has...
