    Is There a Worse Sound...

    I love a happy ending. :-) C.Rorrer

    Oof ... yeah. That's a bad one! C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

Any pipe that survives that is definitely a keeper! I wouldn't mind a spin in an MGA right now, either. I'm a bit younger, but when I was 18 or so I had a '69 MGBGT that I loved. Drove that little thing everywhere until it got totaled in an accident. I then moved on to an Austin Healey Sprite...

What are You Reading as You Smoke?

Currently reading, "I am That" by Nisargadatta Maharaj. Alongside a German repair manual for a BMW R100RT motorcycle I'm trying to bring back to life in the garage. Listening, incidentally, to "Puff" by Erykah Badu. FWIW. I can relate. :) Best wishes, all - C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

No. And honestly, I'm afraid to google it. Did that happen to your pipe, perchance? :) C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

No apologies necessary. But your comment makes me grateful that I work with no one but myself. But truth be told, I'm pretty annoying, too. Even to myself. :-) C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

I'm with you, but technically there are no new iPods. A few days ago, I mistakenly referred to my own 17-year-old or so gen 5.5 iPod (which I love) as a "Walkman" and I was mocked relentlessly by both my son and my wife. I'm a dinosaur. C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

Very glad that the damage was relatively mild. You have a lovely collection there! Best regards, C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

Can't say I saw that coming. I may be overly naiive ... was thinking in a pipe-smoking context since we're on a pipe-smoking forum. Clearly, not all took it that way. I'm new here and will vet my wording a bit more in the future. C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

Thank you very much for the pleasant side note. I was at least very relieved that my pipe wasn't damaged. I don't drop many, but I do work outdoors while smoking. Some have some battle scars. C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

It was somewhere between a little girl and a shrieking, birdlike noise. It wasn't pretty. I'm not proud of it. :) C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

Considering the number of non-pipe-related things shared here, and more than few comments that I would consider a bit snide, I'll certainly think twice before sharing a thought that was intended with humor, and in a pipe-smoking context. Of course there are worse sounds, far worse. I was just...

    Is There a Worse Sound...

Oof ... I've not yet had that happen. Hope I'm not jinxing myself by saying that. :) C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

    Uhh ... OK. Sincerely hope that's not a sound you've heard. C.Rorrer

    GACK! THE HORROR!! C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

OK. You win. No contest. Maybe this was just the worst sound I heard this morning. Or the worst pipe-related sound? :-) C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

I'd like to think so. The definition of "vaccination" seems to have changed a bit from what it used to mean, though. But I digress ... :) C.Rorrer

    Is There a Worse Sound...

Title edited for caps. See rule 9. ... than the sound of one of your favorite pipes hitting the concrete floor? Was having a smoke in my garage workshop this morning with a little Dunhill 1110 Liverpool. Went to grab it from its perch on a wall ledge and somehow clumsily dropped it. I think I...
