What Music are you Listening To? (July 2016)

I've been on a classic kick lately...... Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter", Traffic "Dear Mr Fantasy", James Taylor "Fire and Rain", and Cat Stevens "Peace Train" seem to find their way on to my playlists regularly.

    Falcons and such

I have a couple of falcons that I use as fishing pipes but I've cut about an inch out of all of mine. I'm seriously looking at getting a couple of meer bowls for mine to use as work pipes. There was a guy that was making custom metal pipes that looked pretty interesting. http://deadguypipes.com/

You Spin Me Right Round Baby...

The only tobacco I've ever give me pause was brown bogie...... Two small bowls and my lips were numb. I immediately ordered a half pound of it.

Just picked up my first Meershaum

Welcome to the church of the white goddess. Be careful or you'll find your briars collecting dust while you watch your meer start to take colour.

    Man Cave 2016

All you're missing is a neon beer sign, a bookshelf, and a place to put your feet up! Very nice!

Looking and looking but no pipe available...

Try finding someone to carve a custom meer!!! :|

    Waxing of rusticated meer.

I just hear the outside of the pipe slowly with the heat gun and then start rubbing it with a chunk of wax. The wax will liquefy and run into the nooks and crannies on its own. After you've applied a goodly amount then run it over the heat again and the excess will melt and then with a thick...

    Canada Day Celebration

I was in grade school before I knew there was a Canada Day..... July 1st was also my Dad's birthday and he would just tell us every year that the fireworks were in honor of his birthday. lol Happy 149th Birthday Canada...... Next year will be the mother of all parties!!!

    Some Meershaum Issues

I'd almost guarantee that the poker is African meerschaum and that might be harder to work with as it is far harder then Turkish Meerschaum. As for the loose stem I would advise sending it to a pro...... and get a nice Lucite stem cut for it while it's there! lol

    Growing Meer Collection

They are all a bunch of no name meers except the bottom African pipe and it's a Peterson. I've had to do a lot of looking and some modifying to find my small ones. All of the pipes except the bottom two got all new stems. The green stem originally had a hideous much longer bright yellow stem...

    I Don't Always Smoke Aros...

I have a mix that I am required to smoke at family functions as everyone loves the smell. It's 1Q mixed with PS D-40 vanilla that I call "fat bastard".

I find the scissors on my swiss army knife to be perfect for cubing a flake.

Black Irish Twist Vs. Brown Bogie

On our trips beer is for breakfast! Drink or be gone. Lol I'll have to add some brown irish x to the next order. I have a very tiny meer but it's only good for about 10-15 mins and two bowls of brown bogie in it was sublime. I was all a tingle.

    Fodder for the anti-artisan crowd

I have seen much nicer and better finished pipes made by our own resident makers. That price is nuts. As for the "artist" defacing parks, it's just another shining example of where society has gone sideway in people thinking the only opinion that matters is their own and "damn the rules". The...

Black Irish Twist Vs. Brown Bogie

Hmmm might have to try that. I love the idea of a twist or plug for fishing and hunting trips as they are the easiest to pack around.
