Old Joe, not Krantz, was the worst kind of pipe smoker. He allegedly did it entirely for appearances. He'd break up cigarettes and then pack the tobacco into a pipe, smoke it like a cigarette, and at least in his mind look more high brow and scholarly because of it.- Swiss Army Knife
