Under 30 Pipe Smoker Noah Slasinski on Radio Show of August 13, 2024

As to the actual show... This was a great episode. It was good to hear the beginning with the duo that brings us #LVIPS, then as far as the young folks go, Noah made for a worthwhile guest. His thoughts and comments were quite deliberate and even though I'm a few years older, I understand...

Under 30 Pipe Smoker Noah Slasinski on Radio Show of August 13, 2024

The mouse is now surrounded by a coterie of nasty rodent lawyers who can't stop sniffing out that cheddar.

    PipesAndCigars.Com: Are They Trustworthy?

I've not had any issues with them, but to be fair I've only made two orders there. I just purchased clearance items both times so they didn't get many of my moneys, but they still shipped quickly. Maybe they just  really wanted to be rid of that shit. I agree with the OP though, in that I like...

Las Vegas Intl Pipe Show 2024!

Agreed on both posts. I'm still trying to decide exactly what I'll be doing. Apparently there aren't any water refill stations outside of the visitor center and, being from the southeast, I'm not used to the climate. I'm used to humidity beating the hell out of you, so last year when I hit up...

Las Vegas Intl Pipe Show 2024!

I didn't realize just how great of a recommendation this was until planning my post-show day of decompression in nature. That 11 mile trail at Red Rock is calling my name. Just ordered a sun hat!

Show Us Your Local Craft Brews

The industry is on a steep decline, but there's always room to support local or small craft breweries when they aren't terrible. The wife and I just hit up Kite Hill, a local joint in Clemson in hopes of them monkey stomping UGA next Saturday. Pictured is their Dragonslayer, a Czech style dark...

What Cigar are You Smoking? 2024

I smoked a Gurkha Coffee Tobak(sp?) but I forgot to snap a photo. Good, but far from great. The Drew Estate line must have me spoiled. This one still had a lingering coffee note but there was an odd incense that I didn't think fit the palette.

Do you Cover the Bowl when you Smoke?

If it's raining, windy, or if the pipe risks going out, it's a great technique. When I first started smoking, most of the older fellas around the shop either used their thumbs or matchboxes.

What Cigar are You Smoking? 2024

The local joint didn't have the particular stick @BenMN recommended but I stuck within the brand.

    Post Covid Tasting Change

Indeed. In some ways I think it's just the novelty of the virus. From what I understand, certain people even lose smell and/or taste from the regular seasonal flu. It's just that such a flu has perpetuated for so long in circulation that it's been largely self-remediated. A virus is still a...

    Snagged My First Tsuge

I've wanted a Tsuge for a long time but I don't buy pipes very often. I'd been eyeing an unsmoked estate Meerschaum in the shape of Harry Truman for my wife's birthday. (We're both history nerds and she's a Junior Chair in her chapter of her Daughters of the Revolution. Anywho, when I went to...

    Post Covid Tasting Change

I never lost my smell or taste, but they were certainly altered. When I was in the grips of it I didn't feel like smoking. So once I was back up to it, I looked forward to taking a drive and smoking some DTM Black Velvet, one of my favorites at the time... I hated it. I hated the smell. It...

    Retrohaling

In my opinion it's the best way to get a true sense of flavor. It takes a decided effort to learn to do it, but now that you've passed that initial threshold, you're only a matter of weeks from wondering why you hadn't been able to do it the whole time.
