Ben, Castello does not add shape numbers now. However .... back in the day it would have been a shape 63. Bent apple. Corelos - yes one and the same. Thanks for watching the channel... Mike

Light scuffing on Ser Jacopo Vulcanite

Chasing Embers, very true. A buffing wheel is the quickest. Doing it by hand can take a great deal of time, depending on degree of restoration required. Mike

Light scuffing on Ser Jacopo Vulcanite

The upside is it's a Ser Jacopo which means the stem is Lucite / Acrylic, so IF you do chose to carefully and gently try and remove some miniscule marks, you won't need loads of elbow work, or a buffing wheel, to restore the sheen. If Ebonite / Vulcanite / Brindle you will need extra time or a...

    Incredibly Beautiful Straight Grain Radice.

Lovely Radice. The Radice's started doing Ebonite and Brindle stems a few years ago. The current production ones carry an E stamp to signify an Ebonite stem. The stems are hand cut and have the same very comfortable profile that all Radice pipes come with. Marzio and Gianluca are making...

    New YouTube Pipe Channel

This has been an interesting thread. There are a good number of YT pipe related channels. Some are very good, some so so, and some painful to watch. The same may be said about forums. All forms of social media have their upside and downside. If you get a "connection" with a person and...

Looking for A Nice (Reasonably Priced) Prince

Hi Mike Reasonably priced has a wide range of possibilities, depending on what one considers reasonable. I am going to assume you mean under $100.00. If that is correct I'd highly recommend a current production Kaywoodie in the Sabbiata ( sandblast ) finish. The internal "engineering" is...

    What is your "Grail" pipe??

There's lots of different collectors in this group. Collectors of pipes, guitars, stamps, coins, watches etc. I've read lots of interesting thoughts and opinions, here, on what pipes smoke best, when you should buy this or that. What tobaccos smoke better in specific shapes, or grained...

When to buy a high grade pipe

Ben, ok, now let's define what you see as a nice pipe. What is the criteria you are using? If it's just grain, get ready to pay. If it's style and shape, there are loads of very nice looking and well made pipes in price ranges that won't bend a charge card in half or break it in two! My...

When to buy a high grade pipe

As a pipe seller, I'd ask .... are your current pipes smoking well for you? If so then sit back, relax, and enjoy what you have. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Pipes in your current collections price range are good well made pipes, I assume. Price does not mean it will...

What's this pipe?? Who made it??

As it has a briar floc, it looks like a Bauer, but I can't be 100% certain. Sorry Look on the briar floc for a small stamp ... I think a B within a circle. Mike

***What Are You Smoking, November 2022?***

Yesterday I popped a tin of Cobblestone Virginia Plug. Called a plug, but really a crumble cake, as it says on the back of the tin. I did not have high expectations, as I have not had much prior luck with the blenders other products. However, I am pleasantly surprised. Medium / mild...

Who Knows A Lot About Selling Watches?

With any high quality watch much depends on condition, vintage, model, demand. If it comes with original box, hang tags. Service records etc. Going to an AD, as Cosmic suggested, is an absolute must, to get some idea of the value. When I sold off a portion of my watch collection...

Big Dollar Pipes vs Lower Priced Pipes

Topics / questions like this always make me smile. I'm probably going to get a mess of nasty emails or comments with my answer and more than likely make a few that know me have their chins hit the floor in disbelief. #1 - can you get a great smoking pipe for a low spend? Yes. #2 - does the...
