    Loose Acrylic Stem

rm depends on why the stem is loose. It could be from lack of use the briar has dried out and after a few smokes it will return to correct. Acrylic / Lucite tends not to "shrink", so to speak. Beeswax should be enough to get it to grip while you smoke the pipe a few times to see if it's...

    Boxed Peter Stokkebye Maker?

From the stem "crest" logo, it looks like it's an older pipe made by Jorgen Larsen. The G refers to the grade. I believe they began with the letter A and rose. The highest graded one I have ever seen was an I ( upper case i ) Mike

    Smoking Regulations in Italy

The shopping area connected to the Piazza for the Milan Cathedral has a great pipe shop. It is Noli. Awesome selection of pipes. If you face the entrance of the Cathedral go left .... it will be straight ahead on your right. Have fun. We'll be there in April. Ciao Mike

    Smoking Regulations in Italy

sparker, the last time I was in Italy was 2019. Smoking indoors is not permitted. Smoking in hotels is again, not permitted. Outdoors it's hit and miss. Check your hotel listing to see what they have posted as far as a non smoking property. That will strongly suggest, not even on balconies...

My first Castello and so far, I am having a it of trouble with it.

Rich, take the brand out of the equation. Any pipe might have similar issues as you have explained it. It might just be this pipe or it might be technique of the user. No brand is batting 100% satisfaction for every customer. Different brands use different specifications on the...

    Radice Pipes

As an authorized Radice retailer .... IMHO Radice Pipes offer maybe the best "bang for buck" in the unsmoked new pipe market out of Italy. On the estate market, Ascorti, Caminetto ( both depending on vintage ) and Radice can be found for very reasonable prices. What I find is that the...

    Opinion about a YouTuber

Actually that's just his internet persona. I suspect he's more of a top hat and tails kind of a guy...... opera on Friday, symphonies on Saturday and all day Sunday at "the club" where he passes the day with cognac and cigars ..... hahahahahahaha Mike

    Quebec Hikes Tobacco Tax Today.

Come to BC. Get sticker shock. 50 gram tins now $85.00 CDN each. BC does not = British Columbia. BC = Bring Cash! When I began my pipe enjoyment journey .... 2 oz of tobacco cost an hours minimum wage. Now it's a days wages. Cellar deep my friends. Mike

    Opinion about a YouTuber

Wait just a minute now.... you mean you don't wear a flat cap, a tweed country suit and a fine pair of Brogues when you're out lunting? I am shocked! Ah well I understand, as I puff away sitting in pj's and a robe....... hahahahaha I just assume I'm dressed like most pipe smokers that wake...

    Piper YouTubers

I have a few videos on YT. I guess that makes me a part of the You Tube Pipe Community, although I tend to view myself as a person in the pipe community, be it YT, IG, Forums, shows, or as a retailer. I can't wrap my head around why there is such disdain between the various avenues to...

    Tell Me About Electric Guitars

Lots of excellent advice above, Mike. I wouldn't avoid the Asian made guitars as an option. Sometimes you can find a gem. I was looking for a guitar to keep at my girlfriends. I did not want to drop a whole lot of cash and found a Fender Squier Affinity Strat. The neck felt good, so...

    Tell Me About Electric Guitars

Yes to some they are easier. Different feel to the neck and string gauges allow more "options" , until you build up strength and technique. For me the number 1 thing is neck / hand comfort. I've played countless brands of guitars and now when I buy it's all about neck comfort in my hands...

    Oxidising already?

If you look further down the stem towards the shank you can just make out that the stem has started to oxidize. It may have been sitting in a place with lots of light and thus started to tarnish. Vulcanite quality also varies. Some lower quality Vulcanite turns very quickly. Mike

    DoGooders

Jay, no worries. Bless their hearts ..... they sure do know what's "best" for us... hahahahahaha People wonder why I have been seriously looking at moving away from Canada. Mike

    Unsubscribed

Wow, cosmic ..... I see I am pretty low on your scale.... hahahahahaha ALL good though. If you put yourself out there on social media, you best have thick skin, be able to accept critiques, and be very able to look in a mirror and laugh! No comment on the current "drama" in the YTPC...

    My new and first Castello

Both Dave and Dan know a whole lot more about Castello, than I do. Is it a shape 65, or 63? Depends on the vintage. Current shape 63 is a 1/2 to 3/4 bent apple. Years about the shape 63 was a shape 65 with more of a rounded bowl. The 65 was a very billiard bowl and the 66 was a 65 with a...
