Loose Acrylic Stem
rm depends on why the stem is loose. It could be from lack of use the briar has dried out and after a few smokes it will return to correct. Acrylic / Lucite tends not to "shrink", so to speak. Beeswax should be enough to get it to grip while you smoke the pipe a few times to see if it's...- briarblues

Boxed Peter Stokkebye Maker?
From the stem "crest" logo, it looks like it's an older pipe made by Jorgen Larsen. The G refers to the grade. I believe they began with the letter A and rose. The highest graded one I have ever seen was an I ( upper case i ) Mike- briarblues

Smoking Regulations in Italy
sparker, the last time I was in Italy was 2019. Smoking indoors is not permitted. Smoking in hotels is again, not permitted. Outdoors it's hit and miss. Check your hotel listing to see what they have posted as far as a non smoking property. That will strongly suggest, not even on balconies...- briarblues

Yes to some they are easier. Different feel to the neck and string gauges allow more "options" , until you build up strength and technique. For me the number 1 thing is neck / hand comfort. I've played countless brands of guitars and now when I buy it's all about neck comfort in my hands...- briarblues

Oxidising already?
If you look further down the stem towards the shank you can just make out that the stem has started to oxidize. It may have been sitting in a place with lots of light and thus started to tarnish. Vulcanite quality also varies. Some lower quality Vulcanite turns very quickly. Mike- briarblues

Both Dave and Dan know a whole lot more about Castello, than I do. Is it a shape 65, or 63? Depends on the vintage. Current shape 63 is a 1/2 to 3/4 bent apple.
