    Cellaring - Where to begin

Cheers for the responses. I'm still developing my own taste, but am certainly keeping my eyes peeled for particular tobacco's that strike my interest and may want to cherish over the long run. Ill also be delving into some different Virginia blends over the coming months.

    Cellaring - Where to begin

Friends, What are some general rules of thumb when choosing tobacco to cellar? Would it be safe to say aromatics do not cellar well? Also, what tobacco would be solid to cellar with the intention of enjoying years and years from now? It is obvious I will set aside some of my favorites, but are...

Yikes! The Tin Note - Yum! The Taste

Friends, The other day I cracked open a tin of C & D's Green River Vanilla. The tin note hit me in the face like an '86 Mike Tyson left hook. It was super creamy and sweet (like marshmallow-ish) and was off-putting. I prefer subtly over pungent when it comes to aros, and with this one, I...

What Is The Best Vanilla Aro?

C & D's Green River Vanilla is pleasant. It's a burley vanilla. Out of the can, mine was fairly creamy smelling and moist. Let it dry for a few days and am pleasantly surprised. Its vanilla is rich while the burley is still offering a solid backbone. I haven't tried, but may be thinking to add...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (July 2018)

Dabbling with 4noggin's Hobbit's Weed match in a Savinelli Sistina 106. It's alright.

    New Piper Here

Thank you for the welcoming everyone. Noted: Nightcap, some virginia flake, and I'll have to dabble in burleys. (Still trying to figure out what you damned pirates are talking about). Weez, I'm from picturesque Wyandot County. Cheers!

Is the pipe a tool? (I think so)

Fair answers from everybody and thanks for responding! (I was afraid I may step on the toes of people who do enjoy having a very custom celebratory pipe, which is great. I am just analyzing my own pipe smoking and if anyone else shared in my own idea.) I did leave open the subjective nature of...

Who knew Bach enjoyed a pipe?

Turns out Bach may have enjoyed a pipe. "Whene'er I take my pipe and stuff it And smoke to pass the time away My thoughts, as I sit there and puff it, Dwell on a picture sad and grey: It teaches me that very like Am I myself unto my pipe. Like me this pipe, so fragrant burning, Is made...

Is the pipe a tool? (I think so)

I completely meet you in there being nothing wrong with form and function. After all there is something that drew me to my billiard over any other stylistic quality. And I meant that I'm never dissatisfied by the overall ending nature of a smoke. I find it ends cohesively with my time thinking...

Is the pipe a tool? (I think so)

Nice line-up. They look well-used and enjoyed. I suppose I am taking the position that a finer pipe isn't a workhorse, But I know that definitely isn't always the case. I use a Savinelli 106 billiard for my smoking. Cheers!

Is the pipe a tool? (I think so)

Friends, I usually smoke a pipe in the evenings after dinner. I'll read, and unwind, maybe think about the day, or maybe things I need to do, or lately about the idea of a "failed state" such as in Somalia and Afghanistan, and what that notion means. I pack the pipe, light the pipe, puff...

    New Piper Here

I'm well aware of the subjectivity of taste buds, just wondering what some of you longer-time smokers found to be your go-to. Ill scour the forum and shops for those I personally enjoy (I have an order on the way as this is being typed). I'll definitely need a bit of luck on this quest. Cheers!

    New Piper Here

haha, cheers guys. Might be starting a thread soon. Im looking for a quintessential smoke. Maybe a cornerstone of a rotation that some of you more aged folks may enjoy or enjoyed for many years. I understand blends come and go (and some classic blends aren't as good as they used to be), but...

    New Piper Here

Hello Friends. New piper here from rural northwest Ohio. I'm a recent college grad in economics as well as having a minor in philosophy (I have a particular interest in metaphysics, french postmodernism, and understanding materialism). My smoking history mainly stems from having a shisha...
