    Well guys i contacted the vendor and they sent me a new pipe, The fit on this is much better than what I had. Fred, that is a good idea with the graphite, I will remember for any future experiences I may encounter. :D

    Here is a pipe I have with a loose stem. What I did was took aluminum foil (the kind you use for cooking) and wrapped it around the stem and inserted into shank. as you can see by the pic it formed a sleeve.
