    This May Not be Right.

I have a dog that seems to love the smell of tobacco. I Have gone to greater measures here, to keep him from molesting any of my smoking paraphenalia. If I let my guard down for a moment, he will steel something, and play with it, if not maul it to death. He is a typical puppy Samoyed who...

Number of Smokes in an Ounce

Thank you gentlemen. I think we will call it between 8 & 10 bowls/oz. I knew someone had some numbers, and sure enough there were quite a few who had done some research / calculations and it all tends to agree. We all need to get a life I think! However, thank you all again, it is a pleasure...

    Repairs & Restoration Work

And this Meershaum Cavalier had the same problem. Again, an original amber stem, replaced with a synthetic one. In both cases the pipes were fitted with new screw type tenons as well.

    Repairs & Restoration Work

Just got back two of my favorite pipes completely repaired and ready to smoke from Walker Briar Works. Dave Wolff and Mike Myers came through again with no impairment in quality or craftsmanship regardless of the changes made at their businesses. We still have a wonderful resource for our sick...

Scorch Marks On The Rim & Plateau

Is there any non-invasive way to remove scorch marks from the inside rim and plateau of a lightly smoked pipe? They do not appear to be very heavy, but it is hard to tell when trying to make a visual assesment of them.

Pipes & Tobacco Shops in So. Cal.

Well, judging by the response, there must not be any pipe smokers in So. California, any more since my Grandfather died. What; have they prohibited the use of tobacco products out there along with everything else?

My WW2 RAF Friend - Update

Sean, I envy your connection with this man. So often we ignor the "old folks" and in doing so we potentially miss out on a lot of "life's gold". How much I would give to be able to spend time with my grandparents now that I am old enough to appreciate all that they could share with me. I now...

Pipes & Tobacco Shops in So. Cal.

Heading out to Southern California for a week. Will be in the Carlsbad/San Diego area of the coast. Are there any Tobacco/Pipe Merchants in that area that are a "Do Not Miss"?

    You Better Watch This

I surely do not know why I always have to supply so many sets of my fingerprints when ever I apply for some things! They (the powers that be) apparently already know everything including the size of "willy". Must have lifted my kilt once when I was asleep; and darn......no blue ribbon when I...

    Fly fishing

Been flyfishing for about 30 some odd years now. I used to tie my own flys, and teach fly-tying, but it has gotten to hard to do well; now that my eyesight is not what it was once. Still try to fish as often as I can find a friend to go with me. No more wading deep, but I still catch a few...

    Thanks to Netflix

It's hard to beat the Brits at mystery or humor. Any series containing one or both is well worth the watch. If it is entertainment that you want you can not beat it! The actors in general are true "professionals"...Netfix by far has a very good selection of this kind of stuff. We have ROKU and...

    Poetry

That is a beautiful poem that you wrote smokeybear. A very insightfull and sensitive person you are. Hang on to her, she is a keeper! If the poem led to your eventual union she too is very insightfull and sensitive. These type of people are rare in this world.
