    Has anybody tried JB Weld in black? I didn’t know they made it in black but I’d like to try it on some stem repairs.

    Do you keep a journal of your work on pipes?

    I don’t write up a specific pipe, but if I run across a great procedure or tip I’ll make a note about that specific problem and how it was solved. ie - pipe will pinning, and different specifics for stem repair.

    Recommendations for Shops in Palm Springs

    Planning a trip soon and I know nothing about the shops in that area. I visit a sister from time to time. I’m probably going to pick up some house blends and not too much tinned. Any recommendations? ill probably call once I have a name. Thanks ~ Bill

    Mineral Oil For Faded Finish

    I’ve found that mineral oil will significantly darken a pipe IF left too long on the pipe. A light coating left for a minute is what I like. Mineral oil also does wonders when setting a stain. In the winter, my buffer is outside, so before allowing a briar to rest I’ll use Renaissance wax.

    @ssjones …. Al, I’ve decided to go with Carswell. They have the best application. Now I need to some advice on wheels. I’ll get a soft one for Carnuba, but I’ll be working with rouge and white compounds. Should I just go with the stitching count? Many thanks ~ Bill
