Vanilla Fudge was a great band and Bogert and Appice were an awesome rhythm section. Very powerful and thunderous. Both hugely underrated these days. I think both of them were amazing together. I love the Beck, Bogert, Appice album. I wish that trio had stuck around longer, as they were great. I love Jeff's tone on that album. Cactus was also another good band that Bogert and Appice participated in.
I agree on B,B & A should have stayed together for a while. I have their one album and anything Beck plays on, I love. Played without a pick. Used his fingers but got such an incredible attack on the strings.

Well, that was the era in which Metal was born....

The Vanilla Fudge you were listening to had some very powerful musicians.... Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert, Vince Martell...

Would love to hear it! I’ll be in t

Wilke Lizzie "Final Verdict" is a new Martelo sandblasted Nefertiti. Great narrow bowl for this perique powerhouse (50%)
I will make an effort (with help from a younger member of my family) to post a photo of the Martelo Nefertiti. It is a beautiful pipe and, along with the Pipesmokers of Ireland Jap spigot, my "White whale" of pipes. When I saw it on SP, I knew that I wanted to buy it. However, I had recently bought a Becker sandblasted dublin and felt constrained to wait. Instead, I bought it offline and sent a dozen pipes for trade. A couple of weeks later I eas able to buy the following:
Gustavo Cunha (Martelo) Nefertiti: I have been looking for one for at least a decade. Since I smoke Virginias and Vapers 90% of the time it is the perfect pipe. Truly beautiful and one of the SP customer service people told me that he also had his eye on it.
Austin Quinlan Sandblasted dublin with boxwood. Beautiful pipe by a very talented young artisan who works at Peterson but also makes his own pipes. Great purple leather pipe sock as well!
Radice clear (Gold) (E) Dublin nosewarmer with cumberland stem. I have been admiring it for weeks. I love Radice pipes and this pipe has some beautiful flame grain all around the bowl.

I have that album on LP and I want the live album, but that one is hard to find. Beck in my opinion is the greatest guitarist of all time. Dude can play anything and anything he plays is is amazing.

Part way through this bowl of Wilke No. 24 in a smooth straight brown 1949 KBB Yello-Bole Century Model Lovat with a nickel band accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem. This should get me to a late dinner time. Getting ready to watch the Orioles-Yankees game that I DVR'd.
