Earlier, I smoked a bowl of C&D Sansepolcro 2025 (Small Batch) in a medium bend fumed tan crackled year 2020 Ahmet Govem reverse calabash meerschaum with a military mount silver band and black acrylic stem.

Currently, I'm just finishing this bowl of year 2012 Dunhill Royal Yacht in a 1970s smooth brown slight bend GBD International 9665 dublin rough top sitter with a flat bottom and a black vulcanite saddle stem. Watching the Braves-Red Sox game.

I was actually surprised at how virginia forward it seemed? At least thats what I detected, its less balanced, sharper, and missed some of the bbq notes i enjoyed from a circa 2016 or so tin
I think that's a good summation. It's missing the Dark Fired magic almost entirely, which is sad for a blend named......wait for it...... Old Dark Fired.

Bayou Morning in a La Strada. What a delightful smoke for the first one of my Friday. I dunno if it's because of the pipe or if maybe leaving the pouch of tobacco in my hot car all day did it but the bright and sweet notes really popped out at me as the blend started. About a third through and they've since muted but still a delicious smoke. I'm just about done with this pouch maybe three or four smokes left but it's fun discovering new things about a blend I thought familiar.

Happy Friday y'all!

Big bowl of Tashkent, watching the next round of storms roll in.

I was planning on a nice cigar to celebrate the end of a busy week which saw successful completion of 2 long running projects, and news of an annual bonus and possible contract extension. But life gets busy and left me just enough time for some Tashkent, if my calculations are correct!

Great Friday evening walk on the beach. Dinner at a favorite spot. Back home on the deck for coffee and a pipe. University Flake folded and stuffed into this same Northern Briars I smoked this afternoon. I bought this and my one other Northern Briars at The Briary. Since retirement, I haven’t been up that way. Must have been four or five years ago now. Both beautiful and GREAT smokers! Think I should get in the Tundra one day, drive up and buy a couple more. What say you?

Yes, for sure you should go. And as you have a Tundra, I suggest a bowl of that shape, if they make one, which they most probably do.
