I have some Dark Star that's been "cellared" (however it's been in its own humidor specifically at 70%) and I had tried one bowl of it. It's pretty good but I hear it's going for quite a bit for some reason. I think it's mellowed nicely.
That’s standard for most McClelland blends these days in an unopened tin. Decanted, the price drops.1$ a gram. Maybe more depending on age
Dealers selling consignment overseas may sell a 100 gram tin for $300 or thereabouts, but a cool grand? I haven’t seen that.Interesting. Some places are selling it for over $1000 and I wasn't sure why.
Ah yes. It does indeed drop if opened. 1$ a gram is even a bit high. Some Christmas Cheer ie 2016 & 2016 are going for .75 to .80 cents a gram on Pipestud. If opened, the value can decrease substantially. What would you say @sablebrush52 ?That’s standard for most McClelland blends these days in an unopened tin. Decanted, the price drops.
Honestly, just move past it to the second thing. I mean it tastes nice, but its a bit of a pain in the arse to keep lit. And of course it is out of production and therefore expensive.Funny, I'm a bit of a noob/total noob? and this is the first tobacco that popped up on my radar as a MUST TRY and then... voila - it's the priciest I've seen! lol
I think they were well worth the $16 I paid for them when they were released. As much as I like Christmas Cheer and other McClelland blends, there's nothing I've tasted to justify my spending $80 to $100 for a tin of it, much less the $280 I've seen them listed for on line.Ah yes. I take it you're not a historian. Because you'd say it's a holiday about drunken debauchery, extortion, and the joys of vandalism and cruel pranks.I think they were well worth the $16 I paid for them when they were released. There's something kind of ironic about scalping people over a product celebrating a Holiday that's supposed to be about love and generosity.
You’re referring to Christmas during the Medieval period, when gangs of marauders went about committing rape, torture, murder and all manner of atrocities since they would be absolved of all responsibility by the Church at the end of the 12 days.I take it you're not a historian. I am and you have no idea how happy it makes me to hear you talk about it. Which brings up a question would you like to go olde school caroling with me, Brobs, and Cosmic next Christmas? You’re referring to Christmas during the Medieval period, when gangs of marauders went about committing rape, torture, murder and all manner of atrocities since they would be absolved of all responsibility by the Church at the end of the 12 days.
I’m aware of it, and more.
However, it’s a little different now. Today, any crimes related to observing the Holiday are financial.
You mean committing rape, torture, burning people alive in their homes and other Medieval Christmas pleasantries? Nah.I am and you have no idea how happy it makes me to hear you talk about it. Noobs don't realize that Butera Royal Vinage: Dark Stoved is the same blend. Both are made with Yellow Virginia's and both are processed with that special Mc topping. I doubt anyone could tell the difference between them in a blind taste test.Funny, I'm a bit of a noob/total noob? and this is the first tobacco that popped up on my radar as a MUST TRY and then... voila - it's the priciest I've seen! lol
