What is your cellar is it just mason jars or bags of baccy,is it a climate controlled room, is it in the "cellar" or just a drawer full like mine since I just started. It would be really cool if WE COULD GET PICTURESI read a post here were someone had like 99kg so over 200lbs I would love to see that it would be like pipe smokers porn.

As your cellar grows, you will find suitable space for it's expansion

inside, where you live. At first, it will be mostly the open rotation

of blends that you smoke. The size of the cellar grows with time and

the availability of funds. After a few years of feeding the cellar, you

will be able to smoke aged tobacco. The best time to start is now. The

future's prospects are for diminished availability and increasing prices.

This is the advise I took to heart years ago. It is the best endorsement

I know of for building a cellar.

One of my bookcases has double doors at the bottom. I keep all my tobacco in there in jars and a couple of cigar humidors.

bubba: that is a giant amount of tobacco. What size mason jars are you using and where do you get them from?
I'm thinking about buying mason jars from amazon - because my local Walmart seems to only carry the 16 oz variety.

IMO, and I think most agree, the half-pint jars are the way to go for aging. For most blends they'll hold about 2 - 3oz. For flakes about 4 - 5oz.
For a large and diverse cellar, you will surely want to sample from your stash on a regular basis, and opening a jar alters the aging process by letting in a fresh supply of oxygen.

You can see some photos of some of our cellars in this thread:

My photos are a few years old and out of date. I have added quite a bit more to it since the photos in that thread.
