Lawrence, once my briar gets here I need to make you either "A Few Dollars More" or "The Good The Bad and the UGLY"

I use my hand or my pipe desk.
If it's a flake I do the fold and twist method all in my hand. If it's a non flake, I hold it over whatever the tobacco is coming out of and stuff it by hand. Anything that falls over the sides on the desk gets put in the pipe or back in it's container.

I have a wax covered paper plate that I use. Paper not Styrofoam.
I have a crease/fold in it so that I can fold it in half like a taco. Once I am finished loading my pipe, I fold it and pour the rest back into its container.

Lawrence, the only question I have for you, does that "Few Dollars More" pipe come with training wheels? How the heck do you hold that thing, I'd get a cramp in arm and mouth from that. Looks awesome though.

I'm reviving this thread to recommend a hot air dryer that is excellent for drying out tobacco just prior to smoking.

It's called Heat It Craft Tool. It's great because it provides a gentle airstream that won't blow tobacco all over the place.

...and it gets hot enough to do the jobs in seconds!
