Just enjoyed the inaugural smoke of some of Mr. Boswell's Northwoods in my new Mark Tinsky 2023 Christmas 2-star Bengal. It is officially my favorite pipe thus far. Great first smoke and what a stunner! Feels great in the hand.

A nice looking pipe with a diamond shank similar to some of my Petes which I really like the look and feel of.

Earlier, I smoked a bowl of Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture in a smooth medium bend terracotta Peterson POY 2023 X160 464/1100 military mount egg with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem.

I followed that with a bowl of year 2022 unreleased Sutliff Brown Virginia Flake in a 1920s medium bend smooth dark brown BBB Umbra bulldog with a tapered black vulcanite stem with an orific bit.

Now, I'm a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2016 Sutliff 507-C Slices in a sandblasted medium bend 1950s Reuben era Charatan Deluxe 11 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Sutliffe 507-C all day; first in the Vauen Olaf bent egg, then the Barontini 1/2 Spigot bent billiard, now in the Savinelli 2614KS. It taste slightly different in each pipe. Today in the Olaf it tasted like a sweet bread and plain pasta. In the Barontini and Savinelli like a regular virginia.
To Whomever suggested banking the ash towards the center to allow a ring of airflow around the ember, in another thread, THANK YOU !!! One weird trick that works like a dream especially with flake ! I just use the poker to lightly make a ring around the ash. Vast improvement to an already very good smoke!

Started out last night, only smoked barely a quarter bowl, so finishing up today.

Orlik Golden Sliced in a Radice Clear Bent Dublin with Baldo Baldi briar aged over 20 years.

Be well everyone! 🤙 ❤️

P.S. First time I’m smoking this two days in a row, not normally something I do with a pipe, and I was a bit reluctant to do it with this one, since it’s not really broke in, and I really baby it. :)

It's been over a week since I've smoked one of my pipes. The catkins coming down off the large oaks along with the breeze and wind blowing them around has made it far from suitable to be outside. Today seemed to be the last of them and this evening was cool and quiet and my eyes and nose were not irritated so I thoroughly enjoyed a bowl of Davidoff's Scottish Mixture in a Rattray Beltane's without the dust from the catkins. Back to normal if that's possible.
