Tasting Heaven Hill - Rittenhouse Rye 100 Proof. Lack of age, it seems, makes that oaky flavor not shine through. In any case, a decent rye for my taste, but not a favorite.
I’ve just tried (and subsequently fallen in love with) lapsang souchong, a black tea dried over a pinewood fire.
I would imagine it to be a polarizing drink, tasking like a pine campfire smells, but I’m firmly in the love side of the spectrum.
Finding something totally new and unexpected and loving it is one of my favorite simple pleasures in life - a week ago I didn’t even know tea could be smoked, and here I am now with a new top 5 tea!

A mix of hot water, turmeric powder, black pepper and honey. It’s an anti inflammatory and tastes alright. My knees need all the help they can get lol

My wife and I are getting over Covid, so it has been tea and honey this weekend only. Although I did not lose my sense of taste or smell, I am not sure I could detect much flavor of anything else.
No pipe this evening, but continuing to discover the local joys of Tennessee... tonight enjoying East Nashville Brewing's Miro Miel, a honey blond ale. Good!
Having Son of a Peat, the Redeemer, Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, Cask Strength, Batch 3 Limited Edition (53.8%) from Flaviar while Wasabi chills on the bed.
Just some San peligrono mineral water as Costco didn't have the Kirkland mineral water in stock the last time I went.
Had me some Sobieski Polish vodka-straight up. It's a weekly thing for me lately. Other nights it's cabernet.
Had a couple pours of Elijah Craig small batch.
I love me some Polish Zubrowka Bison Grass vodka but as of now in this afternoon I'm about to fixing some aperitif, Campari rosso with rocks & Light mineral water in a highball glass.
This weekend enjoyed Eagle Rare 10, Elijah Craig Staight Rye, and Tullamore Dew.
Now all you need is a bowl loaded up with a latakia/oriental blend
Slowly swigging some Dad's Hat Pennsylvania Rye 90 proof. That and a poker full of Maltese Falcon does well to end a busy day. Cheers all!
